There are no trash receptacles in the loops, but there is trash, mixed recycling, and a dump station at the ranger booth. They do offer small cans for pet waste in each loop. The FHU loops have spaces that are closer together than the E/W sites. It's hot in the summer, but there is great fun to be had on the beautiful Deschutes river! Verizon is capable, but slow: 5.64 download, 0.29 upload (no TikTok, even with a booster). Last year we ran into racist graffiti here that was quickly covered by park staff. It's eastern Oregon...

They have firewood for sale at the entrance for $5 a bundle with honor box. The sites are full hook ups and spaced pretty well. Lots of hiking and biking trails and the beautiful Deschutes River runs thru the park! Clean restrooms and showers. Cell service for our AT&T was a little spotty.

It rained and hailed most of the nights we were there which made it super cozy. We loved the dog park that is there and our two springers did too. We stayed here while we visited Bend and would definitely do it again. Internet was pretty consistently good.

The campground is extremely organized. Shady trees. Sparkling clean bathrooms. The only downside is that it was really dusty. No fault of the campground, that's just the area.

We were in N Loop. Sites have water and electric (20 amp). This was enough for us to run AC. The space in this loop are bigger and more private than those in the other loops. The hosts were very nice and helpful.
We didn't spend a lot of time at our campsite because we were enjoying the wonderful park and surrounding public lands. The bike trails are mostly well-marked, flat and uncrowded. The campgrounds were completely full but nobody was on the trails!
Many of the trails are along the Deschutes River. This is an amazing area to float -- wide, slow moving river. Bald eagles, herons, otters, beavers, owls are all commonly spotted especially if you're on the trails around dusk.
We especially loved the Fall River trail. The falls are gorgeous. There's a big clear, cold pool at the bottom of the falls with wildflowers blooming along the shore, swallows zipping about. We saw a kingfisher here.
Reception was not very good. I got 2 bars with my Verizon mifi with an antenna. It was enough to work but it was sometimes painfullly slow. I had no Google Fi reception.

LaPine State Park and the miles of yet to be explored wilderness offers unlimited outdoor activities, i.e. hiking, fishing, kayaking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. Located on the Deschutes River and surrounded by a lodgepole and ponderosa pine forest, the campground features 3 loops (north, middle and south), offering 129 campsites. There are also 10 cabins for rent. The Middle Loop featured full hook up sites, back-in and pull throughs, with many large enough to accommodate the longest rv. Each site had a picnic table and fire pit. The North Loop offered only water and 20 amp electric. The South Loop, where the cabins are located also has full hook up sites. Showers and flush toilets are located within each loop and there is an easy access dump station located at the entrance to the campground.
The campground hosts within each loop kept each site cleaned and raked ready for each new guests. Firewood is sold at the entrance to each loop. You are located so close to Bend, Sunriver and the Newberry Crater where many more unique attractions exist. So if you really want to explore and enjoy Central Oregon, this is the campground to consider.
