La Paz County Park was a great find. At this time (Feb 2022) a waterfront site with a ramada (water only) was $27/ night, $150/week, and $330/month. Note there is also a $20 pet fee per stay. Sites are compact sand and pull in, so you are facing the water view. The ramadas are large and provide welcome shade and have a picnic table and BBQ grill. Fires are allowed, but only in a portable firepit. There are sites away from the river with water and electric that are just a bit more expensive. The park is all first come/first served. Now the bad news, that may all change. Management said they are planning on installing electric for the waterfront sites in the next year, increasing prices, and moving to a reservation system. So, check for changes before coming.
The campground staff and residents were all very friendly and social. You are close together, so that’s a plus. There’s a 6-month stay limit, so many of the sites are occupied by snowbirds. The beach is lovely sand, although when the wind kicks up (which it does often) things quickly get dusty and gritty. The park has plenty of amenities: multiple shower/restroom facilities, Wi-Fi shack, two fenced dog runs, boat launch, walking trails, putting green, ball field and playground. There’s a dump station and a separate dump for blue boys. I asked about a dump fee (after reading another review) and was told it was free since we’d be staying for a week. For $30 they also will arrange for your tanks to be pumped at your site.
The park is just across the street from a golf course, 6 miles to Parker Dam, 8 miles to the town of Parker, and about 25 miles to Lake Havasu City, so you won’t run out of things to do! Check out the London Bridge and the Sara Crack (slot canyon) hike.
The only downside was the crappy cell service we got with Verizon. We’d go from 2 bars of usable 4G to absolutely no internet connection for days at a time. Service would drop without warning or suddenly reappear with no rhyme or reason. The Wi-Fi shack had good speed, tables/chairs, a book and DVD exchange, etc. so plan on using it if you need reliable internet.

I've been coming here with a group of friends from San Diego for several years now, staying in the group area for a week in late January or early February. This year the weekly rate for sites in the group area was $170. But when checking in I was charged an extra $20 "dog fee" so the total rate became $190. (The "dog fee" shows in the only "Rate Sheet" I could find on the La Paz County website but it only shows under the "Day Use" heading, leading me to believe it applies to day use only but I was charged for it in addition to the camping fee). The final surprise came when getting ready to leave, there is now a $25 fee to use the dump station - it has always been included in the camping fee before. So the total rate for a water/electric (30 amp only) site was $215 ($195 if you don't have a dog) rather than the $150 shown on the Rate Sheet. One of our group was told that the dump fee started shortly after a "New Director" showed up. I have no objection to paying this amount for a week of riverside pleasure but I do prefer to have the total costs of things announced in advance rather than being sprung as surprises.
The park itself has changed somewhat the past few years. The group area used to have grass and firepits - the grass is gone, replaced with dirt and some gravel and the firepits are also gone.Wood fires are still allowed but not on the ground - you need to bring a portable firepit of some sort. Same for charcoal fires - not on the ground. There was a steel barrel there for disposal of "Ash Only".
We were at the campground a few years ago when it rained. The ground here turns to gumbo when it gets wet so I would advise going elsewhere if it rains. The clay mud sticks to shoes, dog feet, patio mats and everything else.
We'll probably go back - already made a reservation for next year.

#1 is to get to know your area before commenting so it can grow on you, vs instant reactions I have learned. Having a 42 ft Gulfstream with solar, pulling a 20ft cargo with my Goldwing, Ebike, Sailing and fishing kayak, this is the best find so far. My RV is right on the river and boardwalk between 2 bars/restaurants. Meeting walkers is easy. Staff is excellent. My Amazon orders are AASAP. The atmosphere is excellent for me and at $11 a night!!! What a steal and no RSVP needed. Lots of room between RV's on the waterfront. No complaints!! Helicopters, gyro copters, high speed boats, Big air balloons and wild donkeys for entertainment.
Goldwing cruznn is excellent and Ebiking is level and easy to see the resorts on the river. No complaints. Especially no RSVP so my site is mine until I leave, whenever that is. Casino 3 miles away, Parker 6 miles away for shopping and Quartszite is 40 miles to the SHOW!!! But tough on phone and wifi unless a hotspot. They have a wifi trailer, but no one is wearing masks in there, so I go rarely. Maneuvering 60 ft of RV is easy here.

3. Been here before it’s bad enough there is no sewer hook up but the water is so badly filled with it calcium it clogged up the pipes to our last rig.
4. The best part is the proximity to the river but now getting a riversite is hard since they rent the good spots out all year and everyone else gets leftovers.
Was a nice little county park years past, unfortunately not now.

Deep shade is possible in the tent camping area and the cool soil footing a big relief for the dog. Who also enjoyed the river. Toilets very close which is always a plus. Best shower is the one just beyond the WiFi Center. Things are in a bit of disrepair around the tent camping sites but the shade made up for it.
A snowbird capital, with lots of RV and toy hauler gawking to be done while strolling along the Colorado river. Food and drink within an easy walk. WiFi center, dog areas, yoga and fitness classes. Very quiet except for some illegal fireworks in the night (not sure if they were within the park or in the neighborhood) and very loud coyotes.
Was told “summer” is a very different party vibe as folks flock to the river to cool off.

We have only stayed at this park during the winter, surrounded by snowbirds. The snowbirds are friendly and quiet. This time however, the snowbirds were gone and had been replaced with the younger crowd. It was, after all a Saturday on a beautiful weekend.
There are a variety of, first come, first severed sites. We have never been aced out of a spot at this park. Improvements could be made on site quality. During the winter most sites are occupied by long term snowbirds. The sites that back you up along the water are dry camping only (unless you stay at the fancy Pirate's Den RV Resort sites that are on the same property). We always elect to camp over at the lagoon, if it is not a weekend in the winter. On the weekends there is a swap meet happening in that area. About half the lagoon sites have power and water, our $24 included 50 amp power, water, cabana and table. This time we had the whole area to ourselves. Restrooms are very old on this side of the park. The boat launch was busy, it was Saturday and beautiful.
We like that we can walk to two restaurants, Pirate's Den and the Roadrunner. Both have happy hours and specials of the day. We like that we can people watch, put our feet in the river, walk the property, take our dog to two off leash areas, and gawk at the RV's of others. There is an RC track, baseball field, and golf nearby.
It has always been a quiet place to stay, but we did experience a busy Saturday night with lots of boats, music and young people the last weekend of April.
If you need any part for your RV or boat, Spanky's in town has just about anything you would need.

Not my favorite park in the Parker/Lake Havasu area, that title goes to Cattail Cove S.P. However if you are lucky enough to secure a really good site at this campground, then you will enjoy it. I talked to one couple with a great site and they had arrived in October!!! to get it as the sites are advertised as first come, first serve. I was only staying one night to see if I like it. Sites vary greatly and perhaps the best sites are the dry camping sites next to the river. Very reasonable monthly rate so for some, this will be a fairly inexpensive winter home. The hosts will show you different sites to choose from so that is a positive note.
Another positive thing, all the people are very friendly and appear that they have been coming here for years for the winter. The one drawback for me was that the management said no dogs were allowed to swim in the water without a 6 foot leash. Q-dog can really only swim now in her old age and she needs the exercise. On the other hand, I was told by neighbors and others that this not true. So I really don't know if dogs can swim in the river, however you will have to watch out for boaters and such.
There is a golf course across the street so that could be a really big plus for avid golfers. Even though I got 2 bars of Verizon LTE, the internet during my stay seemed very slow.
