And the staff could be a bit less intrusive! I was there 2 nights (reserved and registered) and 3 different people came strolling through camp. 1 to place a tag on the windshield. 2 to verify tag, interrupting nap instead of looking on window (why #1 didn't hang on post IDK🙄) and then 3, as my vehicle is running, making sure I'm leaving by noon because he's "locking the gate at 12:03."

The sites are nice and well maintained and the personnel (a lot of them) is friendly.
The showers are ice cold, although free, and there is filling up your fresh tank is not allowed. There is no dump station either.
Cell service is pretty good. Mosquitos are abundant.
It is so incredible bizarre that the campground is only open Friday and Saturday nights.

Know it is only open Friday and Saturday nights and you should call ahead to reserve your spot.
Perfect cell service.

Great facilities! Clean bathrooms, large showers and clean campgrounds. Super nice camp hosts. Pet friendly. Every site has a concrete table, counter space, fire pit, parking area and a place to set up tents if you choose.

We stopped here for one night on our way from San Diego to Los Angeles and loved it. Only about a 25 minute drive from downtown San Diego and pretty easy to get to. Very nice bathrooms with spacious showers that are both handicap accessible. Drinking water and dump stations are available free for campers too. Keep in mind they only allow overnight camping on weekends, not weeknights. It was pretty easy to reserve a spot online but I did have to make an account with the city of San Diego. Only complaint is the main gate that Apple maps navigates to is closed after 5 pm so you will have to drive around to the other side of Father Junipero to get in. I wish they had told us about that in the check in instructions when I made the reservation, but it wasn’t too hard to find. We would definitely stay here again.

Tucked right into the suburbs of San Diego, this is a beautiful park with nice walking trails. Camp sites are close, but this isn’t a place you come to get away from people. Nice place to stay while we were in town visiting a friend.

There was no one at the ranger booth when I arrived and no way to self check-in... the sign says "find park staff". Also, no alcohol, smoking, or vaping allowed, and pets must be kept on leash.

The proximity to San Diego was perfect for our needs. Very nice facilities. Was rather tight trying to get into and around campground with our MH and toad, came pretty close to clipping signs in the road. The higher even number sites where we were back up to the street so there is traffic noise until closing when they close off the road.
