This CG is too close to the highway, but at least there aren't many coal trucks anymore. Almost anywhere in RRG has this issue, except maybe Lago Linda CG. We stayed the last two weeks of April, which were pretty chilly. I'm glad I didn't have to use the CG shower, as the water was barely warm and there was a constant breeze. Only one CG host was on site and they were not keeping up with cleaning the bathroom. The showers got cleaned a few times but they didn't sweep the floors.
It was busy on the weekends but empty otherwise. The trails were good. Lots of down trees around, so bring a saw to get your own firewood.
Our 30 foot fifth wheel would have fit in just a few sites. It's mostly a tent campground.

We arrived and found one of the few sites that had level parking available. We paid the in season price, but bathrooms had not yet opened. Probably could've paid the winter price since we only had the vault toilets, but we made do. Nice to be so close to Natural Bridge for hiking. The sites are really geared towards tents and are very nice for that purpose. We were in a van and since it was February we had the place to ourselves and were able to get one of the few sites level and long enough. If you're in an RV or travel trailer don't hold your breath on finding a site you'll fit in. The campground has direct access to some nice hiking trails. The big downside is it's right next to a highway so you hear all the traffic, especially when they drift onto the rumble strips on the shoulder.

The campground was well maintained with the camp host at the entrance. They had wood and ice for sale.
We stayed in the back loop which was a bit difficult for our 30 foot travel trailer to make the turn. It was difficult to find a level site with good Verizon coverage.
The bath house was very clean as were the vault toilets. The sites closest to the road did have some road noise but those in the back were quiet.

I recommend the Silver Mine Trail although it is moderately strenuous. It starts in the back part of the campground. The Cliff Trail is an easy stroll.

The campsite cost shown is for a double-site, singles are $25. Sites have no hookups. Water was available from some spigots, but not yet turned on at the bathrooms/showers. Showers are older and show it; we preferred to use our own. Also, many sites are far too uneven or otherwise inaccessible for an RV. However, there are sites large enough as the website says, but there are no reservations so you're taking a chance in the busier time of the year. All the sites are wooded and the hills tend to naturally create views from camp for most sites.
We stayed mid-week in early spring and got a double-site at near the top of the campground. Sunrises were spectacular through the trees. Two worthwhile shortish hiking trails, Silvermine Arch and the Cliff trail both start very near the site we had. There are roads that naturally create a loop drive around the gorge with a number of scenic turnouts or short hikes to vistas. Lots of browns and grays in early spring, but no crowds or bugs.
There is no dump station at the campground, but there is an option about 15 minutes away at a private campground. The nearby Natural Bridge state "resort" park said their dump station is intended only for their campers.
