Spent 3 days boondocking just before the mouth of the canyon. Class B MB sprinter with 2-inch lift and rugged tires. A few deep ruts from recent rain but slow and easy with no trouble. A few trucks passed but spent most of the time in complete solitude. Amazing views in all directions at all times of the day. Sunsets/rises were incr... more

The campsite we chose is at the entrance to Kofa Queen Canyon. The road leading to this site should only be traversed with AWD or 4x4 higher clearance vehicles. The campsite we chose is at the entrance to Kofa Queen Canyon. The road leading to this site should only be traversed with AWD or 4x4 higher clearance vehicles. The road is rough and rutted in multiple locations and runs through several washes. The reward is an amazing view of the canyon entrance to the foothills of skull rock and signal peak. The ranger at the entrance will give you a quick assessment of your rig and the road conditions upon request. Very helpful!

Situated at the base of the mountains, along a rough dirt road, almost four wheel drive conditions. Would not recommend a trailer on this road. Tent or truck campers would be ok.
