We were a late arrival after spending day on Avery Island. We picked our own beautiful site that was fully cemented with full hook up. The park roads are newly paved as well as a new beautiful pool area we did not get to enjoy because of time on our part. Also a walking path around the perimeter of the park. We were a late arrival after spending day on Avery Island. We picked our own beautiful site that was fully cemented with full hook up. The park roads are newly paved as well as a new beautiful pool area we did not get to enjoy because of time on our part. Also a walking path around the perimeter of the park. There are a fair amount of seasonal campers that are in disrepair but we were near the front & did not have to look at them. The owner is doing a great job bringing this park up to a nice family resort. But remember it is work in progress.

We stayed 7 nights. Our average nightly rate was $28.65. The park's weekly rate was better than using Good Sam or other discount. Michelle took our reservation and was very friendly and easy to work with. Check-in was simple and efficient. We met the gentleman owner of the park....can't remember his name. Michelle took our reservation and was very friendly and easy to work with. Check-in was simple and efficient. We met the gentleman owner of the park....can't remember his name. Very nice, easy to talk to, he has lots of ideas and big plans for the RV park. Sounds like they're constantly making upgrades to things. We stayed on a brand new concrete pad - perfectly level. We had no issues with the water, sewer, or electricity. This RV park has at least 200 sites right now, and they will be growing in the future. There is some road noise, but it didn't bother us much at all. We can sleep through pretty much anything. If noise bothers you, perhaps think about asking for a site at the back of the property. There are some RVs here that are old and need to go. I get the feeling there are a lot of full-timers who live here out of necessity, and are not full-time travelers. Some of them really do not take care of their areas. Also, the bath house doors could use a good scrub down. The main sign needs to be repainted. However, these are all cosmetic things. I feel sure they'll get to it all eventually.

Overall Rating
We stayed following a trip to Avery Island and Jungle Gardens. There was a big festival in New Iberia and the campground was almost full. It was quiet and we got a good rest before getting on the road again.

We stayed 2 nights here to check out Avery Island and the New Iberia area.
Lots of permanent rigs, but it was quiet and fairly clean. A bit pricey for what it is, but there's not much else there.
It's right on the highway so there's a bit of noise, but it was warm enough that we had the AC on and didn't notice it to much.

KOC Kampground is very close to Avery Island, the home of Tabasco pepper sauce. We highly recommend visiting the island, the Tabasco museum, and especially the Jungle Gardens. The gardens were our favorite part. It is beautiful there - be sure and take your good camera.
One day we headed off to Henderson, Louisiana. We had a blast on the McGee's airboat ride. We learned so much about the swamp, the lake, the whole area from our tour guide Armond. We would recommend this tour to anyone. It was about $50 per person and about 90 minutes long.
Also, KOC Kampground is near Jefferson Island and Rip Van Winkle Gardens and Cafe. We are bummed that we ran out of time and didn't get to experience the whole island and gardens. We ate at the cafe and it was super delicious food. A peacock named Jorge enjoyed walking around us and perhaps begging for a little food. He was beautiful.
We visited the Coin Laundry in New Iberia, located at 1503 Center St, New Iberia, LA 70560. We, unfortunately, had 2 1/2 weeks worth of laundry to do. Usually that costs us about $18-$20 to do at a laundromat. This time, it was $23.50. I wanted to do laundry at the KOC Campround but knew that I would take up at least 5 or 6 washers with all the bedding and towels I was doing. That's why we prefer to go into town to do laundry, most of the time. This one was more expensive.
If you want some yummy takeout - visit Bon Creole for their fried shrimp, gumbo, and catfish po'boy. You won't be sorry.
