This is our second time staying here and it is a favorite for this area. However, we were here over Memorial Day Weekend and the campground was not ready for the season. Water system was off, no Camp Host and the roads, both through the campground and the access road from hwy 20 are very overgrown so access is limited. We have a 35' fifth wheel and it was very difficult to get through the inner loop on the left side. An hour or two with some trimmers would make a huge difference. We were in site 46 and this is one of the best sites for solar. There are several sites that would have been large enought but many are heavily treed, and need trimming to alow larger rigs. This is a beautiful location on Early Winters Creek and we hope the Forest Service will see fit to do some maintenance and trimming before the campground is completely overgrown.

We stayed here one time previously and then stayed again last night. The campground is very quiet and you can’t hear the road at all. The bathrooms are clean. It’s a great spot if you are in the area and there is a spot available.

We stayed here on 6-3-22 on a drive through in north Washington. Being a Friday and the week after Memorial Day we were expecting a full campground. We’re we’re very surprised to find it nearly vacant. Only 4 campsites were occupied out of 46 total. There is a small loop entering to the right and two larger loops to the left. We picked the smaller loop, site 12 for being flat for our Sprinter van. The fire pit and table sat down and behind, secluded from the loop. A nearby creek provides nice background creek noise. The campground is well maintained with clean toilets and tables. It is 1.2 miles from the highway so there is zero road noise.

What a find Klipchuck Campground was. This first come, first served campground is beautiful and not impacted with crowds. A dense forest intertwines itself between each campsites providing privacy and shade. And the sound of Early Winters Creek behind our site was soothing and hypnotic to hear each evening. The soaring mountain peaks in the background provide an even more of a perfect setting.
All water facets in campground were turned off, so you needed to bring your own. Water was available at Early Winters Campground which is a short distance down Hwy 20. The campground had no hosts on duty during our stay.
Surprisingly of the 46 sites, there were many that could easily accommodate a 34’ rig and the road through the campground was wide and unobstructed. The vault toilets were clean as they were serviced daily by the USFS staff. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. We had no cell service within the campground. Sites cost $12.00 per night, but with our Golden Age Pass the fee was only $6.00 per night.
Multiple outdoor activities await you from this campground. Hiking and biking trails are abundant from the campground and nearby. North Cascade National Park is less than 60 miles away, an easy drive for a day excursion.

We stopped to check out Klipchuck campground and had lunch there on 9/15/20. We loved that it was so natural and not crowded. We returned to stay 2 nights in site 11. There are 46 primitive sites. We were the only campers in our loop. The site was spacious and secluded and was long enough for our truck and 19-ft trailer. It was peaceful, serene, beautifully surrounded by thick forest and we could hear Early Winters Creek behind our site. Vault toilets could use some attention. Klipchuck campground is a good home base to use when hiking the many local trails. Our camp host recommended Cutthroat Trail which suited our difficulty level. The Okanogan-Wenachee National Forest is gorgeous with pine forests and mountain backgrounds around every corner. We drove to Mazama which consists of only two unique businesses - a quaint general store with a small outside deli on the side with a dining patio and a sporting goods store.

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and had a number of sites to choose from. With our 21 foot trailer we had a good selection. We chose site 37. It was a blindside back-in site but the site is plenty wide so getting backed in went well. We positioned to the left side of the site as you look at it and we didn't have to do any side to side leveling (bonus points).
Site 37 is awesome. Really no neighbors to speak of and plenty of privacy. Being a wooded campground we suspected solar was going to be a challenge. But with this site we got good solar most of the day. There are a number of sites on the same side of the campground that could get fairly solar.
We enjoyed the scenic hike through the woods as well as strolls around the campground. There is a trail to Early Winter Creek, but it was a bit to steep for my mobility challenged legs.
There is absolutely no cellular service, boosted or not at least that we could find. It's and easy 6 mile drive to the Mazama store for resupply and cell service.
The pit toilets could have used some attention but the campground only had part time hosts.
Overall, fantastic campground and we are looking forward to another visit. Daily rate was with Golden Eagle Pass

We stayed at Klipchuck for a few days as we explored a couple of the local trails, where I highly recommend the trail to Cedar Falls. A couple of trails lead from the campground also, the only one of which I did was the Early Winters trail. The campground was in primitive status during our stay, so only one loop was open but we still managed to find a spot for our 30' Fifth Wheel. While exploring the other closed loops, I found several spots that would of been able to accommodate us. Most of the sites are not level, so some manipulation will be needed. My understanding is that Lone Fir which is about 10 minutes away, has some larger spots if needed, but I did not confirm. Although you are 1.25miles from the main road, it kind of parallels the highway from a distance, so some road noise may occur from a distance. I imagine during the summer that you would be able to hear the bikers easily. No cell service, but if you go just a little east on the highway you can pick it back up.

Dry camping. Fee 12 but half if have interagency pass.
Our site, 8, fit our 29 ft RV and motorcycle trailer. But not to many sites would handle that length. Sites are nicely spaced. A hiking trail in within the campsite.

Some road noise from Highway 20, especially if a group of motorcyclists were passing by. We were there on a beautiful Memorial Day weekend, so of course there were plenty of motorcyclists out enjoying the opportunity to ride.
Large sites with fire pits and picnic tables. Our 28 ft bumper tow travel trailer would be the biggest thing I would want to try to fit in. Not all sites will accommodate a trailer of our size.
