Klamath River RV Park

This is an excellent spot to use as a launch point for visits to the Redwood national and state parks. The northern most section of the parks is just past Crescent City, and the southernmost is just north of Eureka, and Klamath sits slightly north of the mid-point.

The campground itself is positioned along the Klamath River and is far enough inland to have the summer fog burn off around 10 am and have it return again overnight, keeping the campground cool but not dreary. The host and the site minders are fantastic - very friendly, and happy to point out some of the local points of interest (and the points of interest to steer away from).

Sites are close together on a grassy field, but the noise level is hushed. Shared fire pits by the river (with nearby hoses for an "oops" moment) are lovely.

We stayed here in July, 2023, and parked our class A facing the river, resulting in lovely views at bedtime and in the morning. Would definitely stay here again!

Just can’t say enough about the beauty of this spot. I would highly recommend asking for a River front spot to wake up to the beautiful Klamath River views! Gary, the host, couldn’t be more accommodating.
Only misses 5 stars because the bathrooms aren’t very private but he does keep them very clean!

We stay one night in an uneven grass pull through. We were next to the “open space” for foot traffic up to the hang out area, laundry and restrooms. Campers had no problems walking around both sides of our trailer. We also were placed next to one of the camp host that utilized a golf cart, which was driven very fast throughout the campground.
The river sites were very nice an flat, and we noticed no one was cutting through their camp sites. We would go back to a River site ( all pull thru ).
Front office very friendly, facilities clean, they have a cafe that is open only on weekends. Front security gate closed around 9 am, you receive a code .

Not to be confused with Klamath RiverSIDE RV park, which is upriver, quite a ways inland. Make sure you note the correct address, there are various campgrounds within a few miles named Klamath something-or-other.

What a lovely spot! Right on the Klamath River, woods on the back. Hairpin turn getting in but quite manageable. Gary is very personable and helpful, you get a guide into your spot although its not really necessary. The campground is a wide open field, full hookups. Also plenty of tent spaces separate from the RV section. Laundry, bathrooms and showers. Play area for the kids. There is a clubhouse and coffee shop. Open in the mornings, although while we were there Gary hadn’t been able to find anyone to staff it yet so it was only open on weekend mornings where he could tended to it. The park is well cared for and clean. Awesomely fast wifi! Cable too, although we didn't use it, not enough useful channels. Cell signal quite spotty, though. Phone calls wouldn't hold, had to do wifi phone calls, which worked quite well once we figured out how to do it.

Prairie Creek Redwood state park is just a few minutes down the road offering many hiking opportunities. Do be prepared to be pretty self-sustaining. The tiny little town across the bridge offers only a small mini-mart with mostly beer and wine, there are maybe four dining options. The Country Club Grill and Bar makes the best hamburgers I’ve ever had. Nearest town for any kind of groceries or entertainment is either Trinidad, about 40 minutes south, and Crescent City, about 45 minutes north.
