Reservations are required. Hana Hwy is very narrow and curvy, limiting the size of RVs that can get to this campground.

Overall Rating
This campground is in the Kipahulu district of the Haleakala National Park. The campground itself is extremely basic with cooking grills and vault toilets. Drinking water is available only at the visitor's center. Sites are on a first-come, first-served basis and all are grass, not marked in any way except for the availability of a grill and picnic table. It was very quiet except for the crashing of the waves on the rocky coast below. The stars are fantastic at night! We camped at Kipahulu National State Park in a camper van.
