“The good and the not so good”
Reviewed Jun 24, 2018
The good: conveniently located, just off our route between Santa Fe and Dallas; 30 amp service; concrete pads; view of water; water and electric; ability to stay hooked up, but that may be because the place is empty, although in site 8 you could stay hooked up if it was filled, and there is a tree; ATT service ok; dump station; fire ring.
The bad: litter, litter, litter. Plus, the trash dumpster was filled to overflowing, as if it hadn't been addressed in a long time. The person behind the desk had no knowledge of sites, saying she didn't live here; $28 isn't bad, but it's 18 for the site and 10 for a park entry fee; no personnel in campground; no public restroom - only a couple of port-a-potties. Someone had left string lights on all night at a site they did not return to. This was a fire hazard. No staff=no action taken. I could have turned them off but I thought someone was coming to their site after I turned in early.
We are in Kincaid, but apparently there is another campground area nearby, also on the reservoir, whose sites are also sold by the same vendor. We didn't go there, because we just wanted an overnight, so no comment.
It served its purpose, but this is a one night stand IMHO.
