This BC Provincial Park is located in an arid forested area adjacent to the large Kocanusa Lake which spans the US-Canadian border. Roads off Hwy 93 that lead to the park are paved. It consists of 3 distinct campgrounds: Surveyors, Ponderosa and Kalispell. The Kalispell Campground’s 30 spaces are all First Come and lie on the lakefront with a boat launch adjacent. Many RV spaces there are quite tight “doubles” intended to be shared but with separate fire rings and tables. Others are singles and our single was very spacious, although the $35 CDN daily fee was the same. The park is managed by a Consessionaire and perhaps for that reason it has no Camp Host and lacks the care and hospitality of other Canadian parks we've visited.

The first campground on entering is large (140 spaces) and packed full of sites, activity and noise. The second, Ponderosa, is smaller and, we were told, offers only reserved sites. Kalispell is the third, perhaps 2 km from the entrance, where Verizon cell service varied greatly from 0 to 4 bars of LTE and very limited texting and email. The campground was not full on this late August weekday.

The lake is beautiful, the facilities pretty basic but serviceable, and a boat launch lies between Ponderosa and Kalispell campgrounds. Free potable water can be taken on at the dump
station, which is located just inside the entrance, but there is a fee for dumping. We tried to guess a reason for the vault toilets having open and unscreened windows but couldn't; expect to share the toilets with the insects. This is one of those campgrounds that, for us, we would visit again for convenience while enroute somewhere else, but not a place we'd seek out for its own appeal.

Needing a place to stay between Montana and Banff, there wasn't a lot to choose from. A lot of the Provincal parks don't have any hookups so getting 50amps was a bonus. There's no water at the sites but there are multiple convenient spigots to refill. Bring your water bandit as they are not threaded. There is a dump at the entrance to the park.

There are multiple campgrounds here and the non hookup ones have much more shade and privacy.

Good roads, clean individual bathrooms and showers and a beautiful lake along with hiking trails made it worth the lack of space.

T mobile was good (4G 10+ d/l) and ATT was solid 3G 3+ d/l. No OTA channels. Shopping is in Fernie which is a very cute town.
