“Quiet and lots of spaces to camp near the water”

Overall Rating

The GPS coordinates direct you to the exact spot we stayed at. If you turn right on the road before our spot that has a sign for rafting, just follow that road down. You will find several spots near a dumpster and then then further down there's a river with a big open lot for camping. The sites near the dumpster were full of trash. There are several pot holes on the road so we had to use wood to raise the trailer so it wouldn't drag on the ground. There were two other RV's there when we were. The sites are about 20 mins from golden. It was very quiet except for the train that came through several times during the night. We received one bar on att which was enough to send texts and make calls. Not much shade where we were which was good for solar, not for the heat.

Please see the photo for the location of this camping spot. You can not get a trailer down this road. The good reviews are for parking by the bridge that is just off the highway. It is currently under construction.
