Did dispersed camping away from river. Was off Pearl Harbor (dirt) Drive, south side of Keyesville Road - - no dirt bike area. Was completely alone until Saturday. Expect this is a busy area during peak adventuring seasons. See Review “Dave n Kim 05/19/2017”. . . seems to be one of the more accurate on details. Drove to area o... more

We were dissapointed with this spot. Surprised it has so many good reviews. The actual campground was very nice. But there seemed to be a few groups that were living there. We noticed that right when we arrived but decided to give it a chance anyways and not pass judgement. A few hours later four or five cop cars come zooming passed us... more

First free site we stayed at and we were probably spoiled. Easy to get into, plenty of space, quite a few shady areas and flat areas. We stayed by the river where most people seemed to stay, although it didn't feel busy. Vault toilet was fine and bins to get rid of trash. Some noise from idiots shouting into the early hours, ... more

This spot was pure gold! Even the homeless man thought so because he decided to plop himself in front of our airstream door to pan for gold. Despite the view of his butt-crack we had a nice, relaxing time camped here and would definitely return. 15 minute drive in the Sequoia NP there is a moderate 0.5 mile hike to the Remington Hot Sp... more

This is one of the best places I've boondocked. Our little caravan of 5 solo full-timers where camped right on the river. It was quiet and peaceful (although we left the day before a big weekend event). It was pretty clean and there was a clean and well-maintained pit toilet nearby. It was easy to get level (I don't use levelers) an... more

The Keysville area is really big. There is camping on both sides of the river and it covers about 4 miles. There are lots of different size parking areas, some bigger and more popular than others. Depending on where you go you can easily fit any size rig, although there is a chance of bottoming out. There is lots to do here, you can fi... more

Access with a class A, awesome. There are tons of side roads and places you could get a smaller rig into quite easily. We parked at the main enterance to the BLM by the garbage bins and toilets. When we arrived, garbage was overflowing from the bins. We met a BLM volunteer that told us local people drop off their trash there. It was ov... more
