Reading some other reviews, no one has addressed these issues in over TWO YEARS! A lot of nerve charging $40 a night when taking a shower (with no doors on the stalls) makes me decide to stay dirty.
Then let’s talk about the roadways. Giant potholes!
Will try a private campground the next time…

The park has nice hiking trails through the cedar groves. Wildflowers were growing everywhere. (Third week of March). Well maintained and quiet.

I did not stay at this park but drove thru to see if I missed anything by choosing FBG instead. This is an older but nice place and slightly cheaper than LBJ Municipal Park in FBG. Kerrville is about 35 minutes south of FBG and much less crowded and touristy, but not as convenient IMO. It is a lovely setting along the Guadalupe River, a surprisingly large river for TX. There are many walking areas close by both along the River and in the park. Electric sites 211-219 are well spaced and mostly shaded; they are situated next to a highway tho, so there is some road noise. With the exception of 205, 201-210 looked best to me but they mostly have no shade. I had good coverage with my Verizon phone. Kerrville has a number of restaurants but nothing fancy that I saw. The Kerr WMA is about 35 minutes west but be aware it is closed on weekends.

It was 98-99 degrees while we were there and this was in May. # 127 had nice shade and it really helped keep us a little cooler without having to use the AC. It was quiet except for the occasional airplane passing over. Only negative besides the weather is that they need to repave the sites , rough asphalt.

Stayed here over Easter weekend. This place has potential but they really need to put a little cash into the infrastructure. Looks like when they took over operation from the State they haven’t upgraded anything. Great spot could be better with a few upgrades.

I reserved the last spot in pecan loop since it was conveniently behind the office and a pull through for ease. We did not have to level blacktop site except a few inches on front. But… this loop is directly on a highway - can literally see both directions of traffic through the fence line brush. We are here for one night so the ease, price, site were what we needed. I would be super disappointed for a camping trip with the traffic noise in pecan loop. We did not wander to the other larger camping area or use amenities other than hookups. Would stay again for one night when passing through but try other area to compare.

This park is very well maintained- the staff was out each day working on things. The trails were beautiful and had hikes from easy to difficult. Only 45 minutes to San Antonio, but the town of Kerrville itself was charming, campground is close to an HEB and I would recommend stopping by PAX coffee. Can’t beat a pull thru, full hook up for the price. As many others have mentioned, the deer were everywhere! Only thing I would mention is that the washing machines were broken at the time of our stay, so we went down the road to the Country Clean laundromat, which was perfect.

5 mile bike path is beautiful. Highly recommend. Tons of deer along the trail.
Lots of walking trails on the non-river side of the park (which I would prefer to stay on that side if staying again).
Visited Comfort and Fredricksburg - adorable towns. Winery visit is essential if visiting this area. Also, we ate at Grape Juice one evening, awesome food and lots of beer and wine choices.
Good enough service to work off of remotely without issue.

This is an X-State Park that the City of Kerrville assumed operation in 2004. Very popular, nice park, but it’s really beginning to show its heavy use. Bandera Highway splits this park with check-in on the Guadalupe riverside of Bandera Highway. FHU sites in Deer Field Loop, which require a gate access code for access, are a good distance from the next site, with the site across the road are closer. Asphalt parking pad fairly level. Wooden picnic table, metal fire pit with cooking grate. Utility hook-ups in good condition at our campsite. The picnic table is at least 50 feet from the camper parking pad, which is chained to the concrete pad it sits on. Noise from Highway 173 and the approach pattern for the Kerrville Municipal Airport, so lots of low flying aircraft. Otherwise, campers were quiet and respectful. Deer came very close to us while sitting at the fire pit. Toilet/shower facility clean; women had 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 3 showers. There are two washers and two dryers on the backside of the Deer Field Loop toilet/shower facility, but the washer lids were ripped off, but lying there. Easy day trips to Hill Country towns from this park to include Fredericksburg, Austin, New Braunfels and San Antonio. In Kerrville, don’t miss Grape Juice Restaurant, brand new HEB open November 2020, Belks and Gibson’s Store. Camp Verde General Store and Restaurant is only a 20-minute drive.

Stopped here, Oct 26-28, along the way home to NC from Western States. Waiting out Zeta to come onshore in Louisiana. The campground is south of the road, but the Visitor Center/Check-In is north of the road. If you are pulling a long RV (I wasn’t, only 21’ trailer) do not go straight to camping area on south side because there is an entry gate that requires a code that you get from the check-in location and it is not easy to make u-turn after the keypad station. Fellow behind me informed me I needed to go across main road first to get the code. The sites are in nice wooded area with deer around. I think most are loop pull-thru off the gravel roads, the ones on the road I was on were. So in and out easy. Kerrville, on the Guadalupe River is a nice Texas town. I did want to refill one of my gas bottles and had to drive about 15 minutes through town to get to refill station. It was cold and rainy while I was there so I did not do anything in the park.
