We stayed here for 4 nights in early July, 2023. Our price is an average over that time. This is a GIANT campground. It is set up in two big loops with an inner road inside each loop. The sites are not angled to the road and people drive both ways on the roads, so just be aware when backing in. The asphalt in the sites is narrow and there were giant muddy areas where people had to drive over to back in. Check in was at the store & yes, limited parking there. We were a bit early, but they didn't seem to mind. They actually had a decent selection of local beer there (Country Boy Brewing)! The pool was closed the day we got there - something about the chemicals. This place is so loaded with kids, I didn't mind not using the pool... Some of the sites are super close to each other - it wasn't really our style, but it is a great place to base from. And YES, why is there not a trail from the outer loop to the bathhouses? Good day trips: Buffalo Trace is in Frankfort - the cemetery there is interesting. Lexington Brewery has the BEST tour! Georgetown is worth a visit too.

Someone in a previous entry commented that they had sewer on their site (215). We stayed in that site. It's not a sewer. It's a water clean out valve. If you dump they'll fine you $500 and you'll be drinking your own poopie. They need to mark these to eliminate the confusion. Now that I got that PSA out of the way, the place is great... more

Now that I got that PSA out of the way, the place is great. Only giving it 4 starts because I had to reserve extra days because our dates happen to coincide with Brierfest.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Kentucky Horse Park. The shower water pressure was great, and we liked having access to the pool! I gave four stars instead of five because of the check-in experience and the way the campsites were arranged. Rather than checking in at the entry gate, campers were directed to check in at the store. However, there’s no RV parking at the store, which meant a number of RVs had to park blocking parking spots. Perhaps it’s an issue of staffing, but it added time and stress to the check-in process. Also, all the campsites are paved at a 90-degree angle to the road, meaning we had to drive through our neighbor’s site to make the turns and back in. We would have preferred having a site that’s more angled. We had to level our rig quite a bit side-to-side and front-to-back (so much that we didn't even bother stabilizing for two nights because we had used most of our blocks to level), but that's pretty much the norm.
Verizon was pretty slow: 11.5 Mbps up, 2.9 down
AT&T much faster: 68.1 up, 36.6 down

Easy to get to. Close to the highway but not too close. Pretty area nearby. Great proximity to Kentucky horse park (as you'd expect).
Definitely stay on the outer loop. It was quiet despite being full. Did not use the bathhouses but looked clean. Nice staff.

Beautiful park, large and spread out. Bath house was clean and in the same building was a laundry room that took quarters. The campground store was nicely stocked with some RV supplies, food and souvenirs. The spots were all blacktop and level with grass between the sites. Long enough for my Class A RV and my tow vehicle. They have a very nice pool but it was not cleaned/opened for the season yet. The park was very peaceful, large enough to walk for exercise and/or ride a bike.
I arrived on a Thursday night for 2 nights, the first was very quiet with probably a 10% occupancy in the park, by Friday night the park was almost 50% full and was much busier with families.
Site are water and electric only but there are 2 2-sided dump stations on the way out of the park.

We made reservations for three nights but enjoyed it so much stayed a week! We stayed out the outside circle both A and C and they both worked well. Their internet was better on the A loop but our Verizon was better on the C loop. We’d definitely stay here again. Horse Park tour was awesome too!

We stayed here for two nights on our way up north. Lovely clean campground. The 50amp plug at our site had an open ground but we were able to use the 30amp. Bathrooms were clean, didn’t use shower. Despite being pretty busy with tons of golf carts the park was very peaceful. Our site was on the outer loop which I recommended as most back up to trees for a bit more privacy. My BUT comes from the fact that there is no connecting pathway from the loops to the bathrooms (which are all in the center). Others have commented on this as well.
The Legacy Trail connects you directly to downtown Lexington, we rode our bikes in and it was fabulous. What an incredible resource. Unfortunately the Kentucky Horse Park museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday so we weren’t able to visit. We did explore the grounds which were lovely.
Super convenient to I75, will definitely stay again.

They were very nice and moved us to site 166. We did have low hanging trees but were able to get in. I had to trim a few branches that were hitting our 40 foot Tiffin. The wifi just did not work for us and the management could not provide a fix for the "failure to obtain an IP address" message. Other than for waking up to the blaring speaker at 7AM the noise was acceptable.

We stayed here one night, could imagine staying more nights! Wonderful place. All the amenities were very nice. I will say that the temps were in the 90’s with high humidity so the bath house felt like a sauna. But it was a sauna outside too!
The facilities were well maintained and the staff were very friendly.

There are mature trees on about every site, The camp store is well stocked (even with beer). The wifi was strong enough for us to stream a movie over Netflix with no buffering. The International Museum of the Horse and the KY Horse Park are just a short 15 minute walk from the campground. Zero road noise. The only drawback is that there is no sewer hook up. However, they do have two dump stations on the way out.
