I am giving a 2 stars because most of the people in the campground attempted unsuccessful to do laundry. The laundry service is part of this campground advertised amenities. In our case, we planned to do laundry there. The first night we were told by other camper that the dryer was out of service, he called the campground and got promised they will fix it the next day. The next morning my husband checked and the dryer was running, so we planed to do laundry in the afternoon. We washed our load but when we tried to use the dryer it did not start after putting the money. I tried to contact the resort’s management to find an alternative but never got a reply! So we end up hanging our clothes inside the trailer, not the end of the world, but still a bad service.
The next day we learned that this situation was not new, that the dryer had been on and off for the las 4 weeks! Again, poor customer service! BTW… the front office is always closed even when there is a car in front of it… so campers have no way to communicate with the office.
Also, bring an extension for water and electric, the pedestal is very far away!!

The place is pretty run down but looks like they are slowly trying to fix it up... not sure. Only the outer loops have power and be prepared to bring extra power cord and water hoses. You share power and water post and they are near the very back of each site. The front sites are not very level but I did see many of them park on the grass behind the asphalt pavement. The sites near the back are more level but a bit closer to each other, good for group camping / gatherings. Each have a firepit and picnic table.
There is no one, at this time, to check you in. (They are upgrading the office so I hope they will have someone in there in the future.) It's all done online or you can leave money in the honor box as you come in. There is no map to direct you to your site, it's a go find it yourself system or look for one online as well.
You do have some traffic noise from nearby Highways but tolerable. Trains go by mainly at night and early in the morning, also tolerable.
Good note, they do have Park Rangers that drive by a few times a day. Kinda nice for added security. The staff we did meet were very friendly.
There is plenty to do in the area, if you wish. Biking, hiking, boating or just hanging out. You are close to a small town for amenities or you can drive to Paducah, 20 miles away via the highway, if you need major items.
It's an ok place but could use some help. For the price it was ok for my wife and I.

This park has lots of trees and shade. It was pretty empty when we were there on a Tuesday night but it was clean and quiet. We had two bars on ATT. Only the outside loops have power. The sites on the outside loop appear to be pretty over used and we had to clean up trash around our fire pit but we only paid $26 which is a bargain.

Lots of shade. Some of the sites are a bit overused. The bathrooms are clean. Some of the electric posts do not work. It is nice that the park has a dump station.

Loves Truck Stop within 5 Miles, very convenient. Park has a nice restaurant, beach, marina and trails.

We stayed here on the last night of a 10 week road trip. And we were sooo tired from a 10 hour day. We should have read between the lines of the other review and continued on. But we didn't.
Apparently there had been some sort of event that rendered most of the campground unusable. Most of hose sites that remained had the dreaded electric-post-far-away problem. We only saw one site that we could fit into.
The issue for other travelers is that the reservation site had not been updated to reflect the many closed sites. It indicated TONS of availability. Walk-ins are charged an additional $6. I'm not sure for what.. we didn't see any staff at all while we were there. The dumpsters and trash cans were full and had clearly not been maintained in some time.
It was an easy park to reach from the highway. The dump station was convenient. Those are the parks two positives.

This park had easy access and offered many electric and water sites, which is what we wanted for a couple of nights. The only catch was that we only found 3 sites that had the electric posts & water spigots within reach of our cord. They all seemed to be about 50' away from the asphalt pads. I understand the reasoning in having two back to back sites use the same access points and save running underground utilities further, but it is not practical for most of us in RVs. Fortunately, one site was open that offered utilities next to the parking pad. These sites are #205, 206 & 207. We could hear some traffic and a train infrequently during the day, but not loud at all. About 12 OTA channels. We were debating on whether or not to stay for 2 nights in front of the young lady who was checking us in & she told us that the second night is free, so if we wanted to stay 2 nights it would not cost any more. Done deal. $20 for two nights of 50A & water sounds reasonable. Worth asking for that if you stop here!
