“Possible good RV camping along the way, but not at the Camp itself.”

We have a 27ft 5th wheel, and camped at Cieneguita Camp Area 10mls away, and drove truck-only to look at Kentucky Camp.
We were tempted to move out to here as the surrounding trees looked green compared with those ‘dried out’ where we were (Jan 2018) so it looked pretty. BUT the dirt roads to the Camp are VERY Washboard and rough. (Best to 'floor' the truck! But you need a rugged RV!) There were many possible places to camp along the way – though you’d have others driving by (dust, noise?).
Fortunately ‘Kentucky Camp’ (a ‘ghost town’) is well signposted, as the ~5ml track goes into a myriad of others. At the end there is a parking lot by a locked gate, (actually part of “The Arizona Trail”) so no RV camping here and walk-in only down the ¼ mile track to the Camp itself, which has 5 buildings in varying states of repair, the largest an interesting museum, and plaques explain how they water-pressure jetted gold ore out of the gulch walls. One adobe building you can rent to stay in (look it up, you’d get the gate padlock combination to drive your car in). There is a caretaker living onsite. Also a cool rusted remains of a 1926 Model T Ford lying around.
