Our Dodge Durango made it in to the first site with ease in the free dispersed camping side. We stayed only one night as thats all we needed and the roads were dry enough for our "Rango" to get in and out easily. (Our Rango is NOT AWD or 4WD. Just be easy and drive smart around those small crevasses and your good to go!)
The road in the beginning was rough looking but if you know how to maneuver your vehicle around small valleys made by water damage, your set to enjoy the campsites ahead.
Other Details:
The first site was about 50 feet or so from the second site, somewhat hidden from the road and was just what we needed. Tree coverage, big ol fire ring, and spacious enough to turn our Rango around in if needed. Behind our site was an open field which we had some turkeys roam in for a bit, and the trees withing the first site had one or two chipmunks and squirrels about. The whole time we were, not once did they bother us.
No cell service unfortunately. We use Mint Mobile which is operated by T-Mobile technically, so thats expected to be a NO CELL SERVICE for us T-Mobile users.
We set up about 3pm and enjoyed our time there, but around 5pm-6pm our first day, there was some shooting above near the paid campsite. Didn't last long but was still not cool.
Super. Cold. We stayed only one night and it got as cold as 34°F .... Be prepared for cold temperatures in the early evenings to late mornings in Sept.

Went here to watch the Perseid meteor shower last weekend and although it was overcast during the day it cleared up at night and the stars were amazing. I stayed in site 3 with another camper, probably room for a third too. Got there Thursday afternoon and all spots were open, by Friday afternoon they were all full. Don’t drive passed site 3 on 126 because there’s a gate and no turnaround so you’ll need to back out. There were a few dune buggies that came by but not many thankfully.

Tough access with 36’ fifth wheel, but do-able. Take it slow. Beautiful spacious sites with plenty of privacy, great views, and no road noise or light pollution.

Kenosha Dispersed is located right next to the Kenosha East Campground. And while the campground has road noise, the Dispersed area does not.
The entry road to the campground is 2 lanes and well maintained. At the entry to the campground the road splits. The right and straight roads go to Dispersed Camping and the left enters the campground. Once passing the campground the road does become rutted so take it slow!
The area is now designated dispersed so all sites are denoted with a sign.
If you continue straight the campsites are in a small valley of Aspens. Most of the sites are partly shaded so you can catch some solar. If you need to turn around a larger rig do not go past the parking area on the first turn without scouting. The area ends in a small loop but it is tight. The first campsites in this area can fit 30 foot travel trailers and are fairly level.
If you drive to the right you will climb the mountain slightly. This road is the better of the two with only a few potholes. The sites are full shade and the road ends abruptly at a gate. There is a small turn around at the gate but it took a few manuvers.woth our F250 to make the turn. The sites are at a slight angle and are best suited for smaller rigs.
The area is very peaceful and the fall colors will be amazing with all the aspens. We had no Verizon coverage in the area.
