“A dump”
Reviewed 4/23/2023
Garbage overflowing the dumpsters, debris strewn all around, no care or even any effort made to clean up the place, much less make it look pleasant. Camp hosts do nothing to enforce the rules, while sketchy guests smoke and be loud all night. This campground would not be worth staying even if it were free.

Showers are cleaner than most county/regional parks we've experienced--no bugs or spider webs and not moldy. Out of maybe 40 sites (some with FHU, some with Water and Electric, some just dry) I think only 5 or 6 were occupied while we were here. We like that!

It's quiet, there's a seasonal creek, there is plenty of oak and eucalyptus shade and decades of succulent plantings that have grown large and bloom prolifically. The few large water/electric sites are limited, but can accommodate a 30 ft trailer. Smaller in the rest. I've seen huge 5th wheels at the full hookups hidden in the oaks. But those sites are fewer, and it keeps the park at a human scale. In the far back area are the prettiest and quietest sites, and lots of them. Groups have good times. There's an old amphitheater that's rentable for events. Plenty of picnic tables, some bbqs, and a big grassy meadow with play equipment. Great location for a wedding.

We spent 5 nights at Kenney Grove Park. It was the closest we could find to Oxnard where our family lives. It was a lovely park with lots of shade. Our site included a picnic table and was conveniently located to the restrooms and showers. The park was quiet - even toward the end of the week when it filled up for the 4th of July weekend. If not for the limited hookups (30 amp and water only; no sewer) and the difficulty for big rigs, I would have rated this 5 stars. We have a 37' motorhome and were towing a car. We were lucky to reserve site 24 which we were able to get into without navigating the really tight curve at the end of the road. We did have to unhook the car so we could back into the site but that wasn't a big deal since we planned on using the car while we were there. If you have a big rig, definitely pick site 24 or other one near the entrance. The loop shown on the map is really tight and not recommended for big rigs. The park lists that it closes at 7pm but the gate is not locked so you can still get in/out after hours. You will need to park in the street to open the gate; there isn't room between the gate and the road to safely pull in with the gate closed. We didn't find much to do in the town of Fillmore but if you are just looking to get out of the rat-race, it's a good place to stay.

This is a beautiful campground. We stayed at site 19, and it offered plenty of shade and scenery. There’s a little brook that babbles occasionally, lots of lizards and a giant palm tree on this site and the site next to it has a cute little ridge that goes over the brook. We came during the week and the park was very quiet. It’s a great and safe place to walk around and there are a lot of very unique (to us anyway) plants and cacti! The showers and bathrooms were kept very clean and well stocked. There are lots of sites with little privacy, but a few (like 19) that offer more. It is clean and very well maintained and the host, Cary, is a very sweet and friendly woman! She made our stay here even more fun as she was welcoming and fun to chat with. She comes around a couple times a day cleaning and working hard and is always up for some friendly conversation! We would 100% stay here again. Clean, fun, pretty and comfortable. The area is beautiful too. Five stars all the way.

We spent the Memorial Day 2021 weekend here, and the whole park was pretty packed in. Our neighbors were part of the Songmakers.org group, so they were playing acoustic music pretty much all day and just past 10pm. We loved hearing the music and participating, but I could see that if you wanted to get away, you wouldn't have wanted to be in the spot we were in! Most everyone left by Monday morning, and the peace and quiet was actually really nice (but then we left too!).
The bathrooms were pretty clean and the showers were hot and coin operated ($.50 gave you 4 minutes and you could put up to 15 quarters in for a really long shower). The accessible shower had two shower heads. The lights kept breaking in the bathrooms while we were there, so we were glad that we brought a little battery powered lantern that let us take a shower - the camp host was really great and were actively trying to maintain the bathrooms while we were there. The toilet was separate from the showers, and the toilet always had toilet paper and soap with the sink (although while we were there, they had to take out the sink for a day).
The playground is terrific with old school metal equipment and a lot of it in the shade - lots of fun for the kids and there was a big field that was partially shaded that we played frisbee and softball on. Lots of fun bridges everywhere which the kids loved - the only issue was the dust! The dirt there at the sites was very fine, so it was extremely dusty. Our site had a newer fire pit, a large newer picnic table and lots of oak trees.
There is a Vons and Rite Aid nearby, but otherwise, it's nestled inside a bunch of farmland and feels very remote when it isn't.

After another camp reservation was canceled due to COVID, I had to scramble to find an available spot close to home (Los Angeles). I saw this site here and read the reviews and decided to take a chance with it. It was great!! There were only a couple of other spots reserved when I made my reservation so I was a bit concerned if it was going to be safe. When we arrived, there were only a few other campsites taken so we had an entire area to ourselves! The camp was clean and very quiet. Even when a small group of campers showed up for the weekend, they were courteous of quiet hours, etc. I only used the bathroom once and it was clean enough. We didn’t make it to the bathroom with showers so I can’t leave a review for that. The park itself has a large grassy area for all kinds of activities (kite flying, bocce ball, etc) and it’s adjacent to a playground if you have kids. There is an amphitheater there so I assume this is a good spot for group camping when not in a pandemic. Water and power (30 amp) at the sites was good as well as cell coverage. There is no onsite dump but the public one ($15) is just a few miles away on your way out of town. I really liked this park and will definitely return! Just 90 minutes out of the city and we felt so removed!

We booked this site mid summer for Labor Day weekend. Little did we know this would end up being the hottest day of the summer season, peaking at 115 degrees.
We camped at campsite #1. And this was the first back in site us relatively new RVers have ever negotiated. Hearing horror stories of several hour attempts by some, I was surprised when our 27 foot Airstream was in position within 10 minutes.
The campsite offered 30 amp power and water, though no sewer connection.
Pros:
Plenty of mature trees for shade
Decently clean bathrooms
Grassy area is available for baseball, lawn games etc. However, the kid slides and such were marked as off limits due to Covid.
Cons:
There really isn't anything to do nearby
Grocery store run is about a 2 mile trip
Some sites are a real challenge from a level perspective, so scoping out a specific site would be helpful.
In non Covid times there are a couple of things one might do in Fillmore, but the places I looked into were indefinitely closed due to Covid.
Night number one was super quiet. Though on our second night, the party noise didn't stop until nearly 2am. That was frustrating.
Would I stay here again? Been here, done that, somewhere else in the future.

One thing that surprised us was that the campground no longer accepts cash or checks. We needed to go online, establish an account, and pay with a credit card. (That may not be necessary when the camping season is busy and there is an attendant at the gate.) The camping fee listed above includes a reservation fee and a pet fee.
The campground and park is very shady and there is a playground for the kids.
