The road from Delta to Silverton was packed with cars and RVs on the Thursday evening we pulled into Kendall CG. We thought it would be packed. However, even with over 15 other campers from truck top tents to Class A’s there was plenty of room and areas to tuck our camper van back into the tree line. Our spot, on the far west side of the main clearing, was sheltered by trees and opened to a good sized grassy field on the far side with no vehicle access… unless someone takes their jeep over the huge berm clearly placed to prevent vehicle entry… which of course someone did. They did not stay. The grassy area has several fire rings and would be great for hike-in tent camping. Someone previously commented on generators at all hours. We heard none until about 8 in the morning and only when walking near the generator as the river and road noise was much louder. Single vault toilet could use some paint, but was clean. Overall absolutely lovely location with gorgeous river and mountain view’s. Note the expected low temperature for Silverton was 37 degrees. At 9500’ in Kendall CG it was 21 at dawn.

Beautiful area full of jerks, mostly from Texas, who run their generators late at night and early in the morning.

Very nice campground. Lots of leftover snow that makes a lot of the sites inaccessible. The one we found was close to the entrance and beautiful. The site was level and very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

I spent 3 days exploring the area around the established campgrounds and this place is a must return. I found a couple of single use site up the road and closer to the creek that I would prefer when I return.
The campgrounds a generally quite and peaceful yet busy. Noise was never a problem.
VZ and TMobile are good.

The location is beautiful and so convenient to Silverton. Give it a try and even if full you may be able to find spot right down the road at Sultan.
T-mobile for the win here if you don't have Starlink.

If you like to spend your camping trip in dirt parking lots 5 feet away to the other van or Subaru while listing to others conversations and barking dogs then this place is for you.

The terrain never had t.p. so don't get stuck and make sure you bring a roll every time you gotta go!
There's also a lovely meadow that's great for tents that's off to the right one you get in the "circle!" I had no complaints.
Enjoy your trip!

Several spots for larger rigs - we found one close to entrance/road that worked for our 31’ - to get to spots next to creek would have to go over some rough dips/ridges in road. Beautiful setting in between sone nice peaks / great hiking trails up to mountain lakes. Just 7m from Silverton

After leaving Gunnison area we headed here. Rte 550 is absolutely stunning. There’s a pretty sharp right turn to come to this area but once down here there were a couple spots. We arrived about 12:30 on a Sunday. Pretty busy. Definitely recommend

We spent 2 nights at 2 different spots in Kendall Campground. We enjoyed both. Loved the soothing sound of the creek flowing - great for sleeping in our roof top tent. We had decent Verizon cell service which was a huge plus! The only thing that would’ve made it better is if the toilet has been open. We were there in early June and it still had a note saying “Closed For Season”. Luckily we had our portable with us. And people who came in after us blocked the drive for us to get out of our spot the next morning.
