The sites closer to the road are smaller but forested, the sites closer to the river are large and open. The river area tends to be pretty packed all week and the whole area is busy on weekends. It's usually quiet when I'm here but this year there's been a number of trailers running loud contractor generators very late and early. You can get a number of very odd folks here as well as those who trash their site. I try to pick up what I can so we don't lose access or have it turn into a fee site.

OK, at first we intended to stay like 2 nights at this location. It looked nice from the pictures, but pictures were nowhere close to reality. This place is gorgeous!!! The entire "campground" is large and can accommodate easily 30 (maybe more) RVs. The surface is not very level and covered in pebbles, but the access road is really well maintained. It was easy to get there with our 32' tt.

It will reopen after the snow up above has melted enough and the flood risk is gone.

The most amazing place to be. We came the day after Mother’s Day and had the entire camp to ourselves. It is breathtaking. Views of the mountains and a beautiful creek running in between.

This is one of I believe five campgrounds off of Rt. 7/585 and is the first one you come to. It will be on the left side of the road. It is a large area, with various nooks; some established camping spots carved into trees and then just open camping in the other areas. Part of the area runs up against a creek. We were here over the holiday weekend, so I'm thinking it was extra crowded, as the town does a big 4th of July celebration. Over the weekend, we were almost as close to our neighbors as a traditional RV park, but it wasn't as crowded the week before the holiday so had a little more space. For as crowded as it was, it was pretty quiet. Room for any size rig and there were many who had additional trailers with 4x4's, etc. There is a pit toilet, but didn't use it so can't speak to the cleanliness. The main road (7/585) is dusty and was busy as the are other campgrounds are farther down the road.
We pulled off as soon as we turned off the road and went exploring to find a spot, so there is a space to park before you go down the road.
The other campgrounds, Anvil, Sultan are a lot smaller but run next to a stream. There is sporadic camping spots along the main road, mostly suitable for tenters or small campers, but there are a few spots that can accommodate a 30ft'ish rig. There's another campground past Sultan and it had quite a few large rigs in it and then at the end of (the non 4x4) road is Mineral Campground, which is a pay campground.
We had decent cell, both Verizon and AT&T, however two days into our stay, the AT&T tower crashed so AT&T cell was nonexistent the remainder of our stay. (It's supposed to get fixed, so hopefully that was temporary).
The town of Silverton is really cute and quaint. There is one gas station and one small grocery store, so stock up.
