“Make sure you look at a satellite map!”

I convinced my husband to drive to the left at the fork. I’m so glad he took my advice, because otherwise I have no idea how we would’ve turned around.
Campsites aren’t that close together, but it felt crowded and people were loud. We didn’t see the camp host at all.
Site was impossible to get the camper completely level.

The only reason we booked this site was due to a mountain biking race so we booked a Fri, Sat & Sun nights. We didn’t want to take a chance on not being able to find a spot at other non-reserve/less expensive camping spaces nearby on the weekend of the event. The fee here was $22 nightly plus a $10 transaction fee...$76 for 3 camping nights. We have a camper trailer attached to a truck. Some of the spaces designated for campers are easier to maneuver in to but this space was definitely not. The campground has a one-way small road and backing in to the space was against the directional traffic and tight small road to work with with large boulders surrounding, super frustrating. This specific lot/site is right on top of the bathroom and the dumpsters so there are many people around all the time. There are probably only around 15 campgrounds so it’s smaller and seemed like a nice quiet place with kids/families and mountain bikers. Plenty of fire starter wood on the ground and the host sells bundles. The host was very pleasant when we were greeted. There is a trailhead right at the campsite that you can go for hikes or bike rides on. There is a canopy of trees so if it rains, it does not dry too quickly. If you rely on solar for energy, you may have a tough time in this area. There was no cell service that we could find. It was pleasant enough for us but seemed a bit pricey to want to stay again.

We tent camped here in June of 2015. It's a lovely enough, basic campground with no hookups, but clean bathrooms. It's easy to get to, in fact, it's so close to town, when we arrived and I realized I had forgotten all of our bedding, I quickly drove down to the Walmart on 470 to buy some. There were quite a few spots that were really muddy, so we chose one that was sunnier and drier. A couple of spots were right on a stream. It would have been a great, quiet weekend except a group of loud people were at a lower spot and the sound carried. Overall, it was a very nice place to bring our 2 year old on his first camping trip, and I suppose I might camp there again, but why would I when there are so many other campgrounds in this state? Too many places to camp, not enough weekends in a Colorado season!
Lena would stay here again
