Overall Rating
The staff here is always so amazing. Campground is right on the lake and can be seen from many of the sites. Usually quiet unless you have inexperienced loud neighbors (as we did), but that isn't the state park's fault.

Overall Rating
We were surprised to nab a site for 2 nights in early August just a couple weeks before our arrival. Our site (72) is one of the least desirable in the campground, but it was level and fine for a couple nights. We were surprised to nab a site for 2 nights in early August just a couple weeks before our arrival. Our site (72) is one of the least desirable in the campground, but it was level and fine for a couple nights. The proximity to the beach, boat launch, glacial grooves, and the downtown area is wonderful. It’s a very pleasant campground to stroll through, and we noticed that the tent sites in the loop near the campground entrance are perfect for families with young kids. I knocked bars off for the overflowing trash dumpster next to our site, and the old bathrooms that desperately need updating.

Beautiful sites, lots of shade, and very friendly people. While the state parks are still reopening, the sites were clean and ready and marked for the right people to be in the right sites. Easy access back to town, geographical historic sites, a beach to swim in the lake. Fishing is also available on a pier, breaker. A bit... more

A bit expensive to get your RV across and even more expensive if you have a large family, but quiet and wonderful retreat from the city!
