Wonderful place. Very clean. The only downside is that it's right next to Hwy 34, so you will hear vehicles accelerating and decelerating (with Jake brakes) in and out of town.
Spend some money in town, leave a donation, and pick up a little trash to say "thanks".

We usually leave a donation of $20 per night as this little park is far nicer than many of the $50 RV parks (especially KOA's) we've paid to stay in. There's electric and water to each site with a dump station at the entrance. There is a bit of highway noise to the north and the railroad tracks are right behind the park shielded by the heavy brush and forest. There's a decent restroom with showers available. Although clean they show their age. No reservations as it's first come first serve. McCook is a nice little town with all the shopping and supplies needed for travelers available. There's many good restaurants in town from fast food to sit down dining. The central grassy central area is a nice place to walk your dogs.

The train tracks are close by in the back but the trees block most of that noise. It's well kept and maintained by the city of McCook. The restrooms are clean but kind of dated. Most campers are RV's but we also see some tent and sleep-in-the-car campers. There's electric and water service at all the sites and a dump station near the front of the campground. Great stop over for travelers or visitor like us. We always voluntarily pay to support the campground but you can stay for free if you desire.

It’s a nice little “FREE but donations accepted” park. Stays are limited to 3 days, And McCook seems to be a great little town to explore and spend more than an overnight in. It was very noisy since you are sandwiched between the highway and the railroad tracks.

I saw folks in Class A’s and 5th wheelers dumping and driving off without leaving anything and a Class A hooked up to electric that didn’t pay anything. I know that it says “free” but if more people don’t start supporting these “free” parks they may start charging a fee to just park there.

Can accommodate big rigs, ours is 38 ft and our spot was nice. Nice grassy area in center of park, campsites are around perimeter of the park. Do be careful with entry to park, a bit of a hairpin turn but manageable. Did not use restrooms so cannot comment. Some road noise but again not a big problem- slept well.

We came at 7pm thinking we'd be lucky to get a site, let alone an electric one, but there were 3 open. Shade trees surround the property. It is a very relaxing place! The City of McCook is so nice to open this up to travelers free of charge (although they will accept donations). In the morning there were several campers entering to use the free dump site as well. We will stop here again.

Site 5 didn’t have working electric but we have solar so it fine for us. Nice and shady though the trees could be trimmed to make use of a couple of the cement picnic tables. Flush toilets. Three night stay please maximum. Although I believe there was a local guy hogging a site.

A very nice “tourist camp” with free water, power at every site, flush toilets. Shady pull-over campsites, one big enough for a big rig but not pulling a toad too. Clean restrooms.
