Love it. A little far up from Portland but worth the drive. The Green river run through it. That starts at Mt. Rainer and ends under the Space Needle. Short drive up to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort. Nice and quiet and beautiful.

We’ve stumbled into this place on a couple different occasions both of which happened to be holiday weekends. Once snagging a cancellation for labor day and most recently Christmas. It’s a very pretty park, with many lush green sites, some that are more private than most state parks. Last time we were in a dry site and could barely get any solar to speak of. This time we had our choice of sites and plugged in to run our electric heater. We would definitely come back again if we could get any sort of workable internet, but both times couldn’t manage a signal even with our directional antenna. With the park mostly empty over Christmas we drove around with a booster and both Att and Verizon phones but despite saying we’d occasional be in a bar or two of LTE it wasn’t even reliable enough to load Email or IG. Rare texts would go through but basically that makes this place a hard pass for us outside of holiday weekends

While we are tent campers usually, we took advantage of one of the yurts. Highly recommended!!

We needed someplace close to the Airstream Dealer for a Monday appointment. Only about 20 minutes away.
This is an older, very mature park in Washington. Very green and very over grown. Road throughout the park is tight. We were able to miss any hanging limbs.
The RV sites are even tighter. We opted for a pull-through with a hairpin curve. Other back-ins had limited turning space. In fairness, it was raining and around 5:00 PM when arrived.
Each site had a picnic table and electricity. There is also an RV dump at the campground. Camp host was nice and came out to greet us in the rain.
Little to no cell service on ATT or Verizon.

Mostly dry camping with about 18 electric-only (30 amp) sites toward the back. Spaces are good size although a bit narrow for slides on both sides. Good privacy, lots of trees and nature to enjoy at each site. Easy access to park. Interior roads are fine but some brushing of branches on the top. Two bathhouses with clean restrooms and showers. Free and good water pressure. Only one shower in each restroom has bench and hooks, the other is small with just the door to hang towel and clothes. Rangers on site. Well maintained. Quiet.
Small market two miles away in Cumberland. Maple Valley and Eucumclaw are both good size towns with everything you need without having to go to Tacoma or Seattle.
No cell or internet service at all. Site 39 is the only one that might get satellite.
