Got the last spot available while driving through NY. Needed a stay for one night. The sights are grass and well maintained. Showers are older, but clean. Host was great!
Port a potties for restrooms, but we are in a camper so didn’t need them. A nice little campground next to a little lake.

I stayed here mid-September. Very beautiful campsite! The site manager was friendly and drove around in a golf cart, checking on folks who were camped and chit chatting with those who didn't mind. I also saw him tell off someone driving too quickly through the campground, so he was really on top of keeping things in order.
I didn't use the showers or other facilities, but the bathrooms were very clean and tidy, and there was a contact number posted for maintenance. There was no hand soap, just hand sanitizer, but there were paper towels. There was a house just up the road from the office selling firewood outside by the armful, and firepits on all the lots I saw. As other reviewers mentioned, you can hear 87 from the campground, but it didn't bother me, personally.
I hope to return!

We were very grateful for this county campground. While crossing the country from Seattle to New Hampshire, we mainly wanted a level campground, access to a place for our dog to run around a bit, a quiet night for a good night's sleep and easy access back to I-90. This place hit the mark! Plus some! It was on a small lake that had lots of shorebirds. The ranger could not have been friendlier. Our cell reception was strong. It wasn't very private but there was plenty of space. We took our dog on a nice long walk around the grounds. The stars were spectacular. We are loving these sweet county parks!!

We stopped here for one night in October on our way to Woodstock. Easy to find. Camp host/manager came out to greet us and take our fees at 6:30pm when we arrived. We chose a primitive site along the lake, we didn’t get too close to lake since all sites are in the grass with no pavement or gravel. We only have a VW camper van but it can easily get stuck. We used the shower house which you need to hold in the Button for the water to come out. Water was Luke warm which was fine as it was a warm evening. They have flush toilets and port a potties. Very quiet campground but the road noise was there as it’s just off the freeway, it was too bad and if you were in a modern rig you might not even hear it. Looks like a nice place to walk around along the lake.

We spent a Monday to Friday here at the end of July. We were looking for a place to relax. This park fit the bill.
The park is located on a Corp of Engineers reservoir called Almond Lake. The land is rented by the COE to the county, so it's the county that runs the campground. The $24 per night cost for us reflects a 10% senior rate and gave us 50 amp electric.
The park is very clean and well kept up. All the camping spots are grass and it almost looks like a golf course. There are no pads to park on. We have a BIG rig, and did not have any trouble parking on grass. You have the luxury of parking your RV in whatever orientation you want. The RV sites only have 50 amp electric. There is water and a dump station in the park.
If you reserve a spot, check the campground map and go for a lake view. If you like to canoe or kayak, this is a fun place to do it. Motorized boats are not allowed on the lake. There are a lot of Canada Geese in the area, so watch your step when walking by the lake. There is no swimming in the lake, although there was a great looking public pool in the town of Hornell, just a short drive away..
The toilets are a mix of pit toilets and conventional toilets. It just depends upon which building you walk into. All are clean. The showers are near the campground office and were also clean.
Verizon coverage was excellent. There is no OTA television. There is no campground WiFi, although the camp host indicated they hoped to have that in place next year (2018).
The only downside to this campground is the road noise. There are roads on both the north and south edges of the campground. After a while, you start to ignore the sound of cars.
This was our second visit to this campground. Yes, we will visit again.

Our site was across from a little lake with geese and kayakers.
We were here in July on a Monday and there were 4 other campers here. Bathrooms were clean. Didn't find the showers. Quiet even though we weren't that far from the freeway. If we were around this way again, would definitely stay again.
