We have a 23’ van and we could easily go into the lower sites (we stayed on #8 which has a big area. Once the gates closed, we felt like we had our own private campground as no day users would be starting/ending the hikes). Some sites are more level and deeper in length than others. There is potable water but it’s more for filling up jugs than with a hose (you’d need a really long hose). See pic attached. $15 fee is cash only.

Yes there is only one RV spot (number 8 at the end of the parking lot) however, we came in on a Sunday afternoon and backed our 25 foot Winnebago View down into number 7. Easy as long as the camp area is not busy. Great wildflower (May 2nd) hike, maybe 31/2 miles round trip. Would probably be a busy spot on a weekend. With cellular to... more

18’ Max on Camper and that’s pretty optimistic... Really only 1 space in Camp Area and the Ol’Number 8 ( Upper parking lot ) - Truck / Tent Camping is no problem. Great location, close to Pullman. Clean, nice and a great hike right there! We’ll be back

Kamiak Butte County Park, Whitman County, Washington. In Whitman County, which is 96.2% private land, it is a wonder that they have any camping parks at all. But this one is a real Butte (pun very much intended). 1,00 feet of granite rising above the rolling, irregularly regular windblown hills of the Palouse, surrounded by the largest single stand of forest in the entire county. From up here, if you listen really hard, you can occasionally hear the "pop!" of beer bottles from far away Pullman. For more info, contact http://campeverycountywa.com/whitman-county.html
