Just like being in a state park. Sites under heavy tree cover are well separated and offer real camping not often found in a commercial park. Some full timers, but lots of vacant sites. Restrooms are old but clean. WIFI was not reliable, but good when it was available. Great playground. Good location for visiting Beaufort and USMC Museum.

Our forth visit over ten years. Had full hookups. Did not like our reserved site, 23D so opted for the different available sites since we were off everyday sightseeing. Here during the week it was quiet and enough separation between sites to provide some privacy. WIFI was good and dependable.

Beautiful Lakeside State Park thats Big Rig friendly with paved back-in sites. There is no Camp Site Map available On-Line so we've posted a picture of it. If you want to be waterfront, AAASites 16, 17, 20, 22 and 25 are the full-Hookups are your picks. Site 17 and 25 are the most sought after, and we were lucky to get 25, so book early if...

Fairly easy to get to off of the main highways using RoadTrippers App. Sites are generally set-up for Smaller RV's, maybe less than 25-30 Ft, but we were only there for 1 Night and setup down by one of the Boat Launches, taking care not to be in the Way. Wardens were through a few times and never said anything, so I guess they were ok with it....

The road in was paved until the last 4 miles. That part was extremely washboarded. Anyone can probably make it, but my top speed was 5 mph, and even that shook my molars loose. There are several spots along the way. Didn't see anyone else camping, so felt extremely remote. The farther in you go, the narrower the road, and the softer it gets. I...
