“Nice out of the way spot”

Overall Rating

Nice spot off the beaten path. Roads are fine getting there, but gravel. Stayed in Sept, as for fishing, seemed a sort of moth breeding season, everywhere including in water, fish should have had a frenzy, no luck for us. If traveling and want to get off US 40, nice scenic detour. Only about 5-7 miles off the hwy.

“Couple very nice sites in this CG and easy Yampa River Acess”

Grabbed a nice spot overlooking a bend in the Yampa River and a vibrant green cow pasture across the way. Site came with a picnic table, standing grill, and a small grassy area out my back door. 1 bar VZ 1x/3G unboosted. Voice came through OK on projectfi, no internet though. Vault toilet. Couple trash cans. Medium bank river access and boat launch area. Just down the road from the Juniper Hot Springs. $10/night camping fee + $7/vehicle day use fee if you don't have the Colorado annual parks pass ($70/vehicle/year). Access from the East on 53 is easiest.

Only a couple sites have a good view of the river, and the fence is annoying, but the grassy grounds are nice, and the sites reasonably well spaced. Had the whole campground to myself in mid-April.

4/5 overall.
