Where is the nearest dump station to Jumbo Campground? We will be headed towards Aspen when we leave Jumbo. Thanks!

This was a most gorgeous and peaceful place we've camped at in CO. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Incredible views on drive up from Mesa. Nice roomy sites and lots of hikes nearby. Wish we brought our kayaks - several calm high elevation biggish ponds. Just calming.

There are no signs to direct you to the campground from the road. You need to turn into the Mesa Lakes Rec Area first and THEN you will find the campground. We navigated to the Mesa Lakes Lodge which is just one turn up, when coming from Mesa, since our GPS couldn’t locate Jumbo Campground or Reservoir! We had a great time biking around with the kiddos though. Lovely sites with beautiful wildflowers in July. Spotty ATT service, but our friends with Verizon had ZERO service.

Found this campsite just wandering around. The couple that manned this site in 2016 were super nice! Gave us some insect wipes when we checked in, until we could dig ours out if our gear. Bring insect repellent. Decent number of mosquitoes up here, not too bad though. Grand Mesa is at 10,000 to 11,000 ft, so, might consider that. T... more

The fishing in the lakes is decent. I caught a few in a fly rod. They were picky though. There are lakes you can hike to where the fishing may be better. Less pressure.
One complaint, that may have been rectified at any time. The restrooms were almost unbearable. The stench of ammonia or something was almost too much to bear. I won’t say I resorted to digging a hole in the woods ... but I’m sure others might have ;) Minor complaint. I’m sure not an ongoing issue.

Logistics: The campsite is at 10,000 ft of elevation so the climb is a little steep. We have a class C and we made it just fine. We stopped off once to give the engine a break and enjoy the scenery. The height was a bit intimidating at first but it's worth the push if you have a heavier load. The views are beautiful.
Cell Service: Our T-Mobile phones had no service even with a we-boost. The Verizon phone had service and it was fast enough to work from: 3 bars, LTE service. I was able to video chat and upload/download. It wasn't super fast but plenty to work from and enough to stream videos, netflix, or video chat.
This is kind of a standard national forest campground. Vault toilets, potable water, level spots. No showers. No water hook-ups. Trash available. No dump station. Nice views. easy to get in and out.
While we were there we saw the hosts clean the bathroom twice (thank you!) and enjoyed the trails that were available all around.

Beautiful campground with primitive and electric only sites. Potable water is available in several spots camp hosts have the tool to help fill the fresh water tank. Vault toilets, no bathhouse and no dump (or sever) on the Mesa. Perfect for tent camping or if you're a pro at boondocking. We have cell service LTE (with weboost), 3g without. Spots are large and shrubbery and trees make them private. They also have group spots here that can accommodate 2 RVs and at least a couple tents. Fishing, hiking, biking are very nearby. The only thing that would make this place a 5 in my book would be a full hookup.
