Kid friendly , dog friendly. The reservoir was great for kayaking. Boats & jets skis were in abundance.
A beautiful place we would highly recommend.

There were some steep parts that were mostly sand. The beach is a rock beach with big and small river rock. We found some broken glass on the beach but very little and it was mostly clean. We had a couple of days with no neighbors but some people did choose to camp there towards the weekend. It was very windy! In the mornings it was less windy and the water was calm but cold. When the wind kicks up the water is rough. It was hard to cook outside in the wind. The views are beautiful! We loved staying here.

Water frontage. We took a dip in the clear water. Bottom was a little mucky. Rocky beach. Probably 5-6 sites at the end of the peninsula. This is cattle country and they like the sites as much as people do. Be prepared to move some cow poops. 4 mile dirt road in some wash board areas.

The last 4 miles were on a hard dirt road, bit bumpy but hard packed. We did have to go around and wait for some cows to move. We also saw prong horns...we camped on the pebble beach..strangely there were some trailers parked but No-one seemed to live there, maybe they just parked them and only come during the weekends? Great cell phone reception and Clean And inviting lake water. We swam, we peddled and stayed her for 3 nights. Amazing sunsets and plenty opportunity to make a fire and cook on the fire.. The water was clear as a mirror and we watched green river cutthroat trout spawning. We saw some people but they were far away. Super private. Lots of bugs, but no biting bugs.

This is a gorgeous boondocking and dry camping site on the water and well spaced between sites. The drive in the last few miles is in a well-packed sandy road, albeit bumpy. The spot I picked is spacious, has a fire ring, and right on the water. The cows come grazing along and the stars are beautiful after sunset. I am here at the very end of May and my only complain is that the mosquitos are ruthless. As soon as I parked my Tahoe was covered in them. It’s almost like a horror movie at times being swarmed. If you are opposed to using some sort of insect repellent then don’t stay here. If you dint mind a spray down then it’s all worth it.

went here July 2019 due to reviews on here and YouTube video we found - the YouTube video was apparently filmed when the lake was low because it was higher when we arrived and the water came up into the bushes around the edge - we camped all the way out on the point as shown in the pictures provided by others and enjoyed it - had great weather and enjoyed watching the skiing and boating on the water - was a little buggy but not too bad - very quiet and peaceful and we kayaked around a few times taking in the beautiful scenery

We were here the 3rd week of September and had our choice of camp site. Since it was windy, we chose the spot on the east side of the end of the peninsula, hoping to block the wind from the west. The vegetation is mostly grass and tamarisk, which were small tree-sized. Only one other camper in our immediate area, directly across from us, hidden by the vegetation. We never heard him.
The drive in is over bumpy dirt roads but manageable with our 33ft travel trailer. It did make for a long trip driving in and out to see the Flaming Gorge area. The closest campground was closed for the season so we paid $15 to dump our portable tank at the RV park in Dutch John.
There are many great camp sites all the way down the peninsula. Those farther up are frequented by the open range cattle. There is also a large herd of Pronghorn.
We did have to pick up some trash and dog poop before we settled in :(

Jug Hollow Road and the end site we landed in was 4.65 miles from HWY 191 along the peninsula. There were a few spots before and after this location. Additional locations were also found if you were to bear right at the fork. We enjoyed most everything about discovering this peninsula area.; Easy enough gravel road.; Spot on the water; Privacy between spots; Verizon 3-4 bars and both T-Mobile and Google fi were 2-3 bars; The bad part was pesky flies and at dusk the biters came out; We had a screen room we setup and it allowed us some outdoor time; Beware, if clouds are moving in there may be strong winds showing up out of the blue. Being on the water is always a joy for me and you can launch your watercraft or even a boat from here without having to go to one of the marinas; We didn't launch our kayak from here only because we had a destination in mind that was quite a distance and choose to drive 10 minutes to Antelope Flats boat launch to get closer to where we wanted to paddle.

We took our 36' Class A down all the way to the very end of the peninsula because every other spot was full. Its a decent road but has quite a bit of washboarding so take it slow. Its about 4-5 miles all the way to the end and it took us a about 20 minutes to get back there. There are a lot of spots to choose from IF you don't show up on a Thursday of Friday. We find a nice quiet spot right on the waters edge at the end of peninsula. We loved our stay and the only negative was the road. There are tons of free camping spots all over this lake so Im sure you can find one with a shorter road if needed. We just picked this one because of it having the most reviews. Cell signal was good with Verizon @4G.
