I stayed for two nights. The drive up is a little bumpy but doable. The first night I stayed there was only two cars here and I didn’t pay thinking it was free and no one bothered me. The second night someone came up to me saying I was in there spot that they just payed for. It’s 20 a night with an 8 dollar reservation fee.

It Is a rutted road to get here, but no RVs is a plus. One vault toilet, decently kept. Stayed here on Labor Day weekend, 9/6/22, and at 6:30pm only one other site was taken. By 8pm, 5 other sites were taken but there was still space available. Some road noise.

Even though you can see I-70 from the site, it still has a lovely remote feel. Star gazing was AMAZING and a perfect stopover on my way to Moab.

I stayed here for the 2021 4th of July weekend with a tarp shelter and my Prius. There were some other very friendly folks around, but for being a holiday weekend it was not crowded at all. Probably close to half the established sites were vacant each night. Note, however, that if it does fill up the BLM has signs stating that camping outside the established sites is strictly not allowed. There are vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. There appears to be a cell tower on a high ridge to the northeast with line of sight to the campground, so cell service (at least with Verizon) is exceptionally strong for a place so far from the nearest town. The road in off I-70 is pretty short, but it does have two very wide and deep potholes in it. I was able to make it around them in a very low-clearance vehicle, but a wide RV might have some difficulty - I'm not sure.
We did have one minor incident the first night there, in which a gentleman a couple sites down from me got into a fairly loud verbal altercation with the family across the road from his campsite shortly before sunset. He appeared to be experiencing some sort of mental health episode. Then the shouting got someone's dog riled up, and the whole thing culminated in the family he was shouting at leaving the campground and three BLM rangers showing up around 10 PM to question the man who was shouting and have a look around. After the rangers left, things quieted down, and there were no further problems as far as I know.
The views from this area are really gorgeous, especially of the La Sal Mountains off to the southwest, and there's a lot of interesting terrain around. The couple who stayed next to me put on a light show on the cliff face overlooking the campground in lieu of fireworks, and overall a great time was had by all!

Free amazing views and accessible by car. Everything a beginning boondocker needs. Showers 26 miles away. Extremely nasty vault toilet onsite, but Utah welcome center is 6 miles away. Seemed safer to me. This vault needs a lot of TLC.

This campsite really exceeded our expectations of it based on previous reviews! We stayed in our tent for one night in August 2020 on our way through into Utah & honestly would've stayed longer if there hadn't been pretty bad air quality at the time due to fires around Denver. The campsite was super quiet & breathtakingly beautiful, each site had a picnic table, and there were bathrooms on site. Very accessible off the highway, but with minimal noise. We drove in with a Subaru Impreza, so did a little maneuvering with low clearance, but were fine getting through. What a great spot!

If you enjoy a bit more solitude the sites at Rabbit Valley are far more spread out. However, if you are here during a quiet time Joful is a pretty location up on the bluff and with a few trees.
I sleep in my truck but the road was a bit on the rough side if your riding low or towing something large.

We stayed here in early December in a quite chilly night. There were solid tent pads, fire rings, and picnic tables. This was one of our nicest BLM camp sites, and we had the place largely to ourselves.
We were also treated to a beautiful sunset and a wonderful array of stars.

Nice campsites with tent pads, tables and fire pits. Glad we were only here once the sun went down and only a little into the morning because there is no shade and it's very dry. I have a 2WD car and was able to get here. The dirt road is only about a mile or two off the highway, so it's very doable. Because it is so close to the highway, you can hear some cars driving by through the night, but it's not bad.
