Jones Creek

1 night only June 14, 2023.
We were cruzing down the Oregon Coast and wanted to see the swell Tillamook Forest Learning Center. Its located 22 miles east up Hwy 6...It was closed that day so we spent the night at this campground. On this particular day there were a total of 3 campsites taken in all 3 loops, simply deserted in early June.

Scattered pit toilets, with fire rings, and wooden plank picnic tables are in each site. Most camp sites have a lot of privacy with bushes, shrubs, ferns, and lots of trees. Old growth Sitka Spruce, Big Leaf Maple, Red Alder, & Doug Fir. A very green rainforest look. The Wilson River is close by for summertime swims.

Clean sites, all varying in site size and length of parking space. Nice wooded area with good privacy at most sites. Wasn't tough to level out our car to sleep in, but it might be tough to get an RV level on some spots. Pit toilet clean, but only 1, so it was in use often. No light at toilet, so you may want to take one with you at night. Still about half the sites on B loop were open after dark on a Thurs night, but A and C were nearly full. Looks like they've had some recent price and policy changes - see photos.

Nice dry camping spot with good vegetation between campsites, though other guests were really quite loud when it's packed. When I was leaving in the morning, there were red cups littered all over the campground road. Vault toilets were pretty gross. I was going to stay at an RV park in Tillamook but after seeing their rates and lack of privacy, I'm glad I opted for this place. Self-registration, but there's allegedly a host - I didn't see them.

In August 2016, there was no cell service with Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, or AT&T.
