The 2nd and 3rd day there were locals using the day use area for swimming & fishing so not as quiet during the day. We used our brand new tandem kayak for two days and enjoyed hearing the loons each day and early evening.
About 20 mins from Soldotna for shopping, etc
price was due to the fact that Alaska truly honors disabled veterans, the way every state should do! Thank YOU, Alaska :)

Nice campsites around beautiful lake. Pit toilets and pump water (needed to be boiled). It was nice to be able to book online in advance. Only a certain section of the camp is reservable. Good for fishing. Close to river access too. Saw a couple moose.

Web said 35’ size limit but we had no issues getting our 36’ fifth wheel in spot 12. No dump or any hookups but plenty of open skies for solar and no restrictions on generators (although not many people used them at all, it was very quiet). Pump water but it says to treat before drinking so we ended up filling up 5 gallon jugs at a mercantile down the street. One loop is reservable and one is first come first served.

All of the spots are well spaced with privacy around them. Some with lake views. It's pretty easy to get to off the main highway, great cell signal on AT&T and ample walking around. We enjoyed our evening here. It's all dry camping, so come prepared.
