We stayed the weekend at this campground and had a great time. It isn’t fancy or big but it can handle big rigs (my parents 43ft class A had plenty of space). No sewer hook up, but it does have a dump station. Some sites have no shade and some have big trees - check Google maps for a decent idea of which sites have shade. Playground and swings are nice but small and no shade so it was too hot to really enjoy. Chess/checkers pieces are unavailable for the big board, cement Cornhole boards are in good shape (byo bags). Camp hosts were helpful. One major problem was the ladies shower house lock code was not working so had to share with mens (everyone was told to “shout before going in to make sure it was empty first”). Understand that can happen but it wasn’t fixed in the 3 nights we were there. We had a shower in the camper but with no sewer hookup it meant a full gray tank earlier than we would have liked. My parents class A tripped the power several times (though they do use a LOT of power w/ 3 AC units, TVs, lights, fridge, etc). Not a whole lot to do within walking distance, though we enjoyed some of the nearby trails and the well-stocked fishing pond (a short drive away). Bugs were pretty bad (fleas, sweat bees, berry bugs, and mosquitos) so bring your bug spray and candles! Loved the square fire rings. Campers were very quiet on our weekend!

It was still freezing cold and this was our first campground. We had #1 and all clean and warm bathrooms for ourselves. Lots of space and view.
All good; great campsite. Safe, next to US army.

First let me say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The outlet mall is within a 10 minute drive and Franklin is a great little town to do all other business. The only disappointment we had was the space between the sites and the partying that went on until 11pm or so. If you are one to turn in early, you may be disappointed.

I selected this place as I was returning home and needed an inexpensive place to stay. The bathhouses are very clean. The campsites are well groomed. I didn't have an opportunity to explore a lot of the amenities but I did see a good playground.

Johnson County Park is an interesting conglomeration of activity. The park is 622 acres that include two campgrounds, approximately 5 miles of hiking trails, equestrian school, 18 hole disc golf course, shelter houses, amphitheater, lakes, fishing and more. The park is home to the Hoosier Horse Park with three arenas, 384 stalls and its own 70 site campground plus it is also home to the Antique Machinery Club, Columbus Model Railroad Club, Radio Controlled Flyer Club and Indiana Live Steamers. The RV campground consists of 58 sites with 30amp/50amp electric and water hook ups, level gravel pads (4 sites are paved) and a dump station. Other amenities include a restroom and shower facility, playground for children and community campfire ring. The campground is an easy detour off I-65, Exit #76, for the RVer looking for an overnight or two. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area; grocery, outlet mall, name brand dining. The campground is large rig friendly; family oriented and has a camp host on site for any assistance. Just to make you aware…the park is located in close proximity to an active reserve military base that from time to time has exercises with air traffic and the sounds of shells and artillery fire. The fee for camping is $25 per night with a limit of 14 nights. For reservations call 812-526-6809 or register at the park office. 39°22'48.7"N 86°02'33.4"W
