Fair warning, if you go there at night, the campground is immediately on your right NOT inside the park gates. The campground sign is woefully small and not lit at night so as I pulled off the road trying to locate signs and seeing gate half closed I missed the campground sign. Assumed it was in the park somewhere and was one of those places that close the gate at night on campers (which is crazy to me). Instead I drove into the park, using the GPS coordinates on this Campendium Entry which took me to the golf course parking lot where I had to unhook my jeep to be able to turn around. So I just drove around until I found my error.
The noise subsides at night but it's legit 4 lane highway noise ALL DAY LONG. I was sight seeing and gone most of the time, but I wouldn't pick this place as a family vacation to hang out at the campground. But I wouldn't take away rating for it, just depends on what you're camping for. It was fine for me.

We arrived after the booth was closed for the day and walk up check in was confusing. There were various fees listed for the sites with mention of a tax, but not how much the tax was. All sites are paved and most are level with varying lengths. The campground itself is off a busy city street and you do get road noise regardless of where you park. The showers definitely need updating. There were three showers in the ladies restroom, but one was broken (the whole shower head was laying on the floor). There is a dump station. and There was a water spigot at every site, which was convenient. It was a decent stop on our way through, but definitely not a destination.

.We were met by the park host, who lead us to our spot and offered assistance backing into the site. Nice new asphalt pad, very level, with adjoining pad for tow vehicle. Clean modern restrooms and showers. Washer and dryer, but the dryer was "out of order" while we were there. Plenty of park roads for our ebikes plus miles of walking trails among magnificent 100+ year-old trees. A short drive around the corner on Wolf Hills Rd will take you to the Wetlands portion of the park. There is a 1 mile loop trail that offers some unique scenery, but, unfortunately for us, mid-morning in July, the birding was not good. Our site was at the very front of the park, close to US-41, so there was traffic noise. Sites at the back of the loop would probably be better. If you are visiting Evansville, access to downtown is only 15 minutes across the Ohio River bridge. I regret that I did not take pictures of the campground itself, something that I usually do. I hope the pics of the trails are helpful.

It was very unlevel, though, and we had to use two blocks to get level front to back and two legos for side to side. Most of the sites seemed pretty short and narrow. All were paved. The grounds were immaculate and the bath/shower house was clean with hot water. The park is right on a very busy road, so if we had had windows open it would have been very noisy. The museum was fantastic if you like Audubon. Beautiful original works.

This was just an overnight stop. Most sites are small but there are several that will fit larger RVs. The host help us by using a double site so we would not have to unhitched. We enjoyed our stay.
We stopped here to visit the John James Audubon Museum. Well worth the stop to visit.
Easy campground to access from US41.
