Easy access to park from town. No attendant when we arrived. Vehicle tags were all filled out and taped to the window. The gate access code is included in your confirmation email. Randalls grocery store about 6 miles from the park. The bank down to the water is a fairly steep climb. Bring your water shoes to go in the water. It is hard to walk on big rocks in the water. Can get windy at times. Plenty of room between spots. We will stay at spot 040 next time. Completely unobstructed view of the lake at spots 030 - 040. Also, less slope to the water. Take an evening trip to downtown Georgetown and walk the square. Really nice with huge courthouse in the center of the square. 600 Degrees Pizza and Brewhouse (pet friendly patio area) is a must stop!

Most sites are shaded and some have a great view of the lake. Many sites are not level, so bring plenty of leveling blocks. Park is quiet and has gas and groceries nearby. Don't wait until 2 o'clock on a Sunday to exit! There is only 1 dump station for 148 campsites, and huge lines of people waiting to use it can form, and this also blocks the exit from the park, as there is no bypass lane!

The site does have a slight down hill pitch. Did have to raise the back of the RV to level. If you had a longer rig this could be more of an issue. For our 25 foot motor home it was fine. Nice walking/hiking in the park. Camp hosts were very friendly. We did not go into town and cannot comment on how hard it would be to get supplies on a longer stay.

Most of the other campers we met here were from the surrounding area. Lot of families on the weekends. Sites were well put together and plenty of space between neighbors. It's a long walk to the bathroom/shower houses, but we found them to be in less desirable shape. Georgetown is very close and nice option. Austin is about an hour south.

There is a 26 mile easy to moderate hiking and biking trail that goes completely around the lake. Hiking/biking from the campground to the dam is an 8 mile round trip.
Sites 17 though 63 offer views of Georgetown Lake, with many having direct views overlooking the lake.
Few sites are level, although none were unmanageable.

The view of the lake is really good from the south loop. The shore to the lake is rocky. Each site has a wooden roof over the picnic table. Fire rings are included with a bbq grill. Our WIFI download speed with a mobile router and antenna was 6.5 and upload was 1.9 via ATT. The service was reliable. Verizon signal was weaker and not as fast -- one to two bars. We look forward to coming again. One of the nicer COE parks without sewer.

My in-laws live in Sun City Texas, about 5 miles from the campground and about 2 hours from our house. We camp here around 5-6 times a year when we come to visit them.
It is an excellent park and we have camped in many, many spots. Our favorites are NOT the ones near the lake. We have tried those and often it is quite windy and makes it so you can not sit or even cook outside! We prefer spots in the 66-72 range, which are in the trees and offer shade. So, not near as windy. Sure, we do not always get a lake view, but in our minds, it is worth it.
Leveling can be a challenge on the inside loop down near the lake. These spots are downhill toward the lake and we have seen many motorhomes and coaches with their front wheels in the air and trailers on lots of blocks. The sites nearest the lake are hit and miss on leveling. One time we had to put the trailer up on blocks to get the front end down enough to be level. It is doable, but be prepared.
Verizon cell phone reception is typically good and we have streamed lots of movies and sporting events.
The bottom line is it is our home away from home!

This is a well thought out campground with beautiful sites, well-spaced, and a wide variety of spots to choose from. We stayed in site 104, which was private and quiet. However, next time we'll opt for a site in the "other loop", with commanding views of the beautiful lake and nice lake breezes. Restroom facilities are functional and straightforward. Each site has a charcoal bbq grill plus a separate fire ring with grate. Also, a concrete pad with sturdy picnic table under well-built canopy structures. Plenty of deer to be seen throughout the day. No issues maneuvering with our 36' 5th wheel/F250 rig.
