we were in the H loop which gets a lot of atv noise but also gets some sun whereas the other loops are quite darkly shaded.
the showers were OK but had annoying push buttons to turn them on for 30s at a time

I stayed here as a kid with my Parents. So many fun memories & now I’m able to create the same experience with my Nieces 10 & 12…some things age like a fine Wine & Honeyman State Park is one of those things. Sand Dunes are a Blast, but you have to watch out for the crazy & out of control ATV’ers. Otherwise a family friendly experience.

Well maintained campgrounds with dunes access right there. Great for off roading and some nice hikes. Bathrooms and showers were good. Good location, close to Florence which is a nice town.

Beautiful campground, immaculate bathrooms ( except the old ccc ones). Beach and dunes are other worldly beautiful. Some very cool stone work and history about the ccc. Great welcome centre yurt with games, info and books. There was some theft reported by other campers, so it was recommended to keep locked up.

Stayed here the end of January 2022 and it was kinda weird, dark from the heavy tree cover, isolated feeling and muddy. I'm sure in summer it is a totally different vibe. We stayed in B loop for the full hookups but maybe shouldv'e moved to the south loops. Cell service was sketchy in B loop the hot water was off in the bathrooms and it was muddy and difficult... and di I mention REALLY dark We ended up moving to another park down the coast earlier than planned. The hiking trails were awesome as were the dunes but the sites are VERY close together (would be interesting when full) and the roads very tight and pitch dark at night. BTW don't try to get to this park at 11pm with a 40ft conversion bus and spend an hour driving around with a spot light trying to find a place to fit into... you wont and it is annoying to the other campers. ;)
The yurts looked very nice and the back sites in H loop with direct OHV access to the dunes was really cool.

The campground was surprisingly busy given that it was January on the Oregon coast. We lucked out with amazing weather. We found the sites ample for our fairly large trailer. It would be a breeze in something smaller. Power and water were at the back of the site. I just used the water to fill our fresh tank instead of hooking up because we didn't have enough hose length (our rig has city water connection near the front). The dump station was fine, nothing to write home about but adequate, the departure for the left side was tight for us but do-able.
I was concerned that we'd have a bunch of ATV/ORV noise but we couldn't hear anything from where we were; that could be because we were visiting during the off-season though.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. With the lake close for swimming and kayaking and the city just over the bridge, it’s a fun time camping here. You do need to drive to the beach, since it is not within walking distance. We normally bring our travel trailer to camp, but this time it was our Roof Top Tent trailer. The site was spacious with plenty of trees and shrubbery for some privacy. Most of the outer campsites have some sort of foliage between the sites. The newer bathrooms on this loop, with showers and cleaning sinks, was an added bonus. Make sure to book far enough in advance, since this campground fills up in the summer months. Cleawox Lake located within the park and has a roped off swim area for kids to enjoy, along with a floating dock. The lake is a fun spot to kayak as well. Another nice thing is most of the time there are no bugs.

We loved this campground and had an amazing stay! We had site 175 for 4 nights. The site was big, private, and level with a picnic table, fire pit with grate, and water/electric hookups. The campground is huge with about 400 sites but they are spaced out and separated by trees which provide a lot of shade. The bathrooms were really nice and in great, clean condition. The showers each had their own private entry/door which was really nice (best campground showers we’ve had in a long time!) The campground sold kiln-dried firewood for $5 a bundle. There was a dump station (it was a little nasty) with non potable and potable water). I don’t think there were laundry facilities. There is trash and recycling at the front of the campground.
One thing to note is that our site was close to the playground and main campground road which was very noisy so we would keep that in mind when picking a site next time.
It’s so nice being able to walk to the dunes and Clearwox lake from the campground. South Jetty beach was only a 18 minute drive (there is a $5 day use fee but the America the Beautiful pass works here to cover the fee). Dune buggy and ATV rentals are only a few minute drive from the campground too. This was probably our favorite state park campground we’ve ever been to, and we would definitely stay here again if we were back in the area!
We had about 2 bars of Verizon service on our phones but it was very slow and didn’t really load anything. Our Verizon jetpack had much better service for some reason. When we used our Weboost cell booster, the service was good.
We had about 2 bars of GoogleFi service (sprint, T-Mobile, and US cellular) but it was very slow and wouldn’t load anything.

NO ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION RULES. FAMILY CAMPING FOR DRUNKS. Parents walk around drinking beer and getting hammered while their kids take off and run around the camp screaming. This might be the atmosphere some people look for, but not me. I asked the Ranger stationed there about the drinking and she said" It is allowed to carry alcohol around the campgrounds and drink. If they get aggressive you have the right to stand your ground in your campsite." I asked her what that meant and at first she shrugged as if to suggest it was something she could not directly tell me to do then back tracked and said call the police department. I have worked as a caregiver and dsp for 20 years I wont bring people back to a camp with an open bar/daycare atmosphere. It is sad to see our state campgrounds turn in to glamper keg parties.
