“Nice spot close to Yosemite”

I only stayed at for one night because of poor cell reception. The road that this is directly off of seems to get a surprising amount of traffic, so if you choose a campsite too close to the road, there is a good amount of noise from cars driving by, even fairly late into the night. Otherwise, it was a very clean, cozy campground from what I saw during my one night stay. A forest office is just across the street as well.
For reception, I didn't get anything good from Verizon. Voice was fairly constant, but I didn't try to make a phone call, and I noticed it drop that a few times. I thought I saw it say 4G or even 3G a couple of times on my phone, but not enough to even do anything with.
Would make a great weekend spot for free, if you don't need to rely on cell service from Verizon. I used this as a stay to kick off a drive through Yosemite the next morning, and it is just close enough to be very realistic to use as such.
SubaruVagabond would stay here again

“Closed but is being remodeled.”

I live in this area and have been watching the progress of this campground being cleaned up of all the dead trees. It should be quite nice when finished.
“Closed Indefinitely ”

This is not to be a poor review of JerseyDale CG. The camp is closed indefinitely due to tree mortality and removal in the area. Once reopened, this camp will be quite exposed because many of the large pines will have been removed.
This location will be a good base for those visiting Yosemite once open again.

We tried to camp at Jerseydale to use it as a base camp to visit Yosemite NP, upon arriving there we found out that Jerseydale is closed due to falling trees because of the Bark beetle. Luckily after talking to some forest service guys they directed me to a road directly across from the Jerseydale CG which had free camping in the turnouts. Was not the greatest spot, bugs were really bad, and didn't like leaving our RV there. It was a very quiet road, just a few cars a day. And it wasn't the closest to Yosemite. Took about a hour to drive to Yosemite from there.j Cell service could be found just at the base of the road NF55, i think, and Jerseydale Rd, by the forest service building.
We ended up finding a large pull out 10 min from Yosemite off the 140 that you could spend the nite in. It wasn't the best camp either. It was just a dirt pull out, and the neighbors were really rude some nights. But it did work great to explore Yosemite. Technically we weren't allowed to camp at the pull out spot but lots of people do, you just have to move to day use parking during the day. We stayed there for a week and got away with it. This spot had no cell or Wi-Fi either, but you could get it by driving 10 min down the road.
