“Great campsite for Memorial Day Weekend”

Reviewed 6/6/2023

Nightly rate: $43

Overall Rating

Great little campground with some sites right on the water. It's first-come, first-serve campground. More expensive for out-of-state folk ($43!) but we were able to snag a site that had water access (got there on a Wed before Memorial Day weekend). All sites have water & electric. Showers are $2.

Campground is clean and the camphosts were friendly. Sites are not too level (the ones further from the water seem to have more of an incline so be prepared).

Boat ramp is well-used. Would recommend to launch kayaks near the extra boat parking in the campground near the water. There's a few trails to bring your kayak down and launch (between the white posts).

Even if you don't stay, it's worth the drive to the campground - switchbacks and beautiful views of the reservoir from high above.

“First Come First Serve..... take a chance! ”

First come first serve even in summer..... rare for a campground on the water! Kinda risky though because it is a ways out and you might risk not get a spot considering there are only 28 spots in this park. We arrived on a Thursday evening in mid August and snagged the last available site - #26. The sites themselves are nothing to get excited about, lack privacy, are pretty dusty, and most do not have direct water access. There are bathrooms and a nice boat launch. However the water is a short walk away. We grabbed a cooler and some towels and walked the beach left from the boat launch, past the last of the campsites, and found a long stretch we had nearly to ourselves. I would recommend it for people with boats and water toys!
