“Quiet BLM Campground along the Missouri River”

We camped at the James Kipp Campground, Loop A site 10, for one night in late June. Our nightly rate was $6.00 with our Lifetime Senior Pass, this is a first come - first serve campground. Loop A has plenty of shade trees, while loops B and C have fewer shade trees. Each camp site has a fire ring and table, there are vault toilets and trash receptacles throughout the campground. There is a dump station at the campground entrance, however as of June 2022 there is currently no water available. We had no Verizon service during our stay. Our campsite had a trail going down to the Missouri River and we had plenty of shade trees surrounding our site. The campground is clean and very quiet, during our mid-week stay the campground was less than half full.

“State run C/G with limited services. Only highway crossing osf MO River for 200 miles each direction”

Nice spot along river and highway, western boundry of Chas. Russell 1.1 million acre Wildlife Refuge. Launch on the river to recover boats coming from Ft. Benton. No electric, generators OK, water and dump nearby and a host if help is needed. Sites qre gravel and very private.
The Refuge is boondocker's heaven, busy during deer, elk and upland bird season. Must caution about wet weather here. A heavy dew can turn dirt roads to gumbo that will keep you stuck for days. South of the river the roads are mainly dirt. North of the river mostly gravel.
The scenery and wildlife observation is outstanding. Starting mid to late Sept. the elk rut begins and you can watch the harem building as you sit in you vehicle at roadside. This is wild and remote country.
