Grade A campground within an expansive family park with many activities. Full hookups, and in the shade. Easy to get to Charleston and all it has to offer. We had heavy rain while we were there, and it drained off very well.

County Park with many activities. A free shuttle goes to downtown Charleston in the morning about 9am and brings you back about 4pm.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #3, a FHU, BI site for $63/night with a senior discount. Roads were asphalt and sites were gravel. It was all very easy to navigate. The site was easy to back into. It is a handicap accessible site so the picnic table area was also asphalt. It is right next to the bathhouse which was beautiful inside. They have porch swings scattered around the CG which is a lovely touch. Also, there is an activity area next to the bathhouse with an outdoor grilling area, table games and ping pong table. Sites have some room around them, not spacious, but not on top of each other either. Wifi was okay, I didn’t try to stream anything. I had 2 bars LTE with Verizon and there were loads of OTA channels. An added bonus – they had a Festival of Lights going on which I was able to drive through for free since I was camping there. One of the largest ones I have seen. It was very fun. There are lots of other activities in the park. I found myself wishing I was staying longer even though this is on the high end of the price range for me. There are also several laundry spots available - $1.75 for W/D each. Other sites that I thought would be good include: 25, 31, 110, 119 and 17 (although it may be a little harder to get into.) I would consider staying here again.

We stayed here to visit Charleston and it was perfect, in fact we wish we were staying here longer. Great camp sites, plenty of shade, quiet, clean and amazing bikes trails. This is a no brainer stay.

Great park run by nice people. Some sites lack privacy, so choose wisely. Showers were very clean and hot water abundant, but toilet paper was scarce one morning. Take a roll with you.

Beautiful campground with amenities most don't have: an obstacle course, climbing wall, splash park, large dog park, trails and close to downtown. Loved it!! Got lucky to snag a last minute reservation for two nights. Will definitely be back.

Nice long, 3 loops of asphalt bike and walking trails. There is so much to do in this area and great for families. Friendly staff, safe, full hook ups, and easy to get into Charleston. The internet was not great. Close to Folly Beach - drive and then walk all the way down to the south end for a fantastic sunset. For a fun eat, find Bowens Island Fish Shack on the way back and enjoy!

We where here in February 2023 for a Softball tournament that our grand daughter was playing in over at Patriot Park. Problem was that it rained virtually all weekend. We did get enough of a break to get out and walk the park a bit and it has nice amenities. The dog walk is very popular with the local residents who frequent the park and the walking/running trails are excellent. Many are paved so we saw a lot of runners out getting exercise. The sites are not paved, but the sand is firm and we had no issues. The sites are just far enough apart that you do not feel cramped. The bath houses are very well kept and both have laundry facilities. The store stays open until 8 or so and is well stocked. The site we had was near a power line coming through so we had just a bit of construction noise a time or two but nothing that hindered our experience. The park is safe in that it closes at night and you get a gate code and the entrance is manned during the day. All the hookups worked perfectly, water and sewer. Wifi was a bit slow but adequate to stream while we sat out the storm. The lady at checkin was beyond nice to us. She explained the park in great detail. We also asked if we could drop our trailer somewhere for a few hours after checkout because there was one afternoon softball game scheduled on the afternoon we were leaving and she pointed us to a quiet place in the corner of the dog walk parking lot. We wound up not needing it due to rainout, but nice to know it was there. The only negative of this campground is it is a bit of a drive through the town to get to and the roads do have a bit of overhang and are pretty busy especially during rush hour. Not a big deal in the whole scheme of things. We would definitely stay here again.
