Looks like the Jacob Lake Campground is right on the highway. How much traffic and how bad is the noise?

Not terrible. The campsite I had was right next to the road and camped in a tent. Yes, there is occasional cars and trucks going by. Was not to a level of being annoying for me. During the day was in the park so couldn’t tell you about daytime. Evening and overnight, occasional drive by. Early morning did have couple large semi-trucks but again not bad and I imagine if on interior of the campground wouldn’t hear them. One caveat, I visited August 2020 so could have been less traffic due to the pandemic. The campground was full, plenty of people in the park. I have definitely stayed much worse places for road noise for sure! My opinion, if can plan ahead get a site not on the aisle right next to the road and will be fine. Is a lovely campground and I would visit again.

While this is a moderately traveled road though the area, the trees tend to knock the noise down quite a bit. We have stayed there a few times and even with logging operations to the east, the noise wasn't bad. After dusk the traffic drops off to almost nothing and you can enjoy the quiet of the forest. Alternatively, there are MANY places to boondock (drycamp) in the area, but as always, scout any sites if you are unfamiliar with the area.

It is adjacent to the road and I honestly don't remember any traffic. There is not much beyond the Inn (across the street) until you get to GCNP so traffic is minimal to nonexistent when it's closed. It was not an issue for us and the sites are far enough away from the road that what traffic there is one doesn't notice.

It is a little noisy during the day but by 9-10pm it was silent.
