Where is the nearest place to fill our freshwater tank before arriving?

Has anyone used the Group Site across the highway? Is it really limited to only 2 rv's per group site?
Yoginigirl asked on 6/19/2021
Looks like the Jacob Lake Campground is right on the highway. How much traffic and how bad is the noise?

Beautiful pine forest, though no privacy as these trees afford no foliage. Sites 1-11 are first come first serve and then you can stay a number of nights. Some of the other sites are reserved but you can stay one or two nights depending on their arrival date. The ones on the edge of the forest would have been really nice as you can park against the road and block off the site a little. Pretty trails through the forest to explore. Our site (#10) was close to the restrooms and potable water, which was handy. Neighbours had loud generators at various hours and other noises (a high-pitched sound all night, random vacuum/plunging noises at 5am). Campground is right on the highway and close to the service station so traffic is pretty constant, though a little quieter at night. Campground hosts were pleasant. Firewood cost $8 a bundle. Cleanest and best smelling vault toilets I’ve encountered. Proximity to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon was excellent; we went there for the day and came back to the campground for night.

We were not able to get into the North Rim or Demotte campground so we stayed at Jacob Lake. The campsites are basic and ours did not have any shade. It was very windy when we were there so instead of cooking outside we eat the lodge across the street. The drive to North Rim is 40 minutes.

Camp hosts were super nice. The site I was in was located next to the road so was a bit of road noise but quieted down by bedtime. Highly recommend and looking forward to my next trip!

Our site was fairly level, gravel, with a little shade, our rig's auto leveling feature was able to handle it, but the front of the rig was quite a bit off the ground. The sites are large, each with a fire ring and picnic table. No hookups! There is water available by each toilet.
The camphosts are friendly and do a fantastic job keeping the campground clean and orderly. The bathrooms are vault toilets, but they are kept spotless and mostly odor free.
Firewood is available for $7 a bundle from the staff.
There is no dump station on site, but there is one at the campground a mile down the road for $15.

The camp has good access to hundreds of miles of forest service roads and trails to ride ATV’s, SxS or jeeps. The maps are at the camp host site. Plan to bring water!! The local RV Park charges $20 to fill & $15 to dump tanks.
For a short stay or an extended stay you won’t regret staying at this camp.
It was comfortable maneuvering our 32’ fifth wheel. We saw many bus style rigs towing cars going through camp also

With the campground closed in the National Park due to both COVID and the recent Magnum Fire, we chose to stay here in Jacob Lake and we couldn’t have been happier. Camp hosts were super friendly and came around frequently to clean the bathrooms and greet campers. We reserved a pull through spot on the back side of the campground which had us staring out into a beautiful ponderosa forest every day. You aren’t able to fill your RV here at the campground, but you can go over to Kaibab Camper Village and they’ll let you fill your tank for $20. Another review said the Chevron has water, but we asked and they referred us to the RV park. The campground roads and parking pads are made of packed pea gravel and ours was perfectly level. No charcoal or wood fires were allowed while we were there so we spent the evenings star gazing. Be sure to check out Jacob Lake Inn for their famous cookies and milkshakes. It was perfect after a day exploring and hiking. On our way out, we headed back over to the RV park to dump our tanks for $15. There’s a cell tower nearby that gives you full bars, but doesn’t necessarily give you fast speeds.

We have camped here several times over the years. This is our "GOTO" place when we want to have a quick getaway. We live close to Zion NP and can be at this campground set up and relaxing in under 3 hours.
This is a dry campground set in trees at Jacob Lake, right across from the Jacob Lake Inn. This campground has great level spots and most have plenty of room between you and your neighbor. We go here to relax in cooler temperatures compared to home and make multiple trips across the street to get cookies from Jacob Lake Inn.
From here you are about 1 hour from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and about 3 hours from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. If you stay here a trip out to Sublime Point at the Grand Canyon is a MUST!
The only problem possible at this campground are the Hosts. Some years they are great, other years they are not.
