This place is a NFS campground that has so much to offer. A loop with electric hook-ups, a beautiful nature trail that is over a mile, lots of other hikes into the Cheyenne Wilderness Area, well-spaced, large sites, and an equestrian campground.

My husband and I went here for the Memorial Day weekend and really enjoyed our stay. We got in at about 7pm on Thursday evening, and got the last electric site available. It was our first time camping in our fifth-wheel, and we had a great time. We took the road in heading south on N County Road 63E, and missed the turn since it wasn't labeled, and had to make a u-turn a little ways down the road. Once we got there we were a little surprised that we got the very last electric spot. The website says that spots are non-reservable, however we found many people cheated the system by paying for the spot or two next to them and saving them for people who showed up a day or two later. This is my biggest complaint. Driving around we were very disappointed to see all the sites that had folding chairs blocking them from being taken. This seemed very unfair to the system, and to the people who actually showed up. The area was beautiful and so far away from civilization, which is exactly what we were looking for. Most sites were well separated from the next by trees so you weren't smashed up next to your neighbors. No cell service, and no town nearby. We did a few short walks around the site, and there was plenty more that we passed on because we are not big hikers. If you have an off-road vehicle, this is a great place to take it! We found plenty of side roads that were just calling our names! There were restrooms, which were very clean, and fresh water spigots. They also had firewood for sale for $5 a bundle. The campsite hosts were very friendly, but not too intrusive. Since it is so far away from town, I'd suggest bringing plenty of adult beverages, and extra gas if you plan on 4-wheeling it anywhere. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
