“Another great CoE campgroud”

Price paid reflects having full hookups and the National Seniors Pass. Regular price for full hookups is $40 and $37 for water and electric.

This is another great Corp of Engineers campground on a reservoir. The campground is mowed grass with lots of trees for shade. The campground roads are paved, the pads are paved and the patio area next to your pad is gravel. The sites are very much spread out. Sites nearer to the water are electric and water only. Further away from the water you can get full hookups. Make reservations if you want to be here on the weekend. Bathrooms were decent.

One of the camping areas called Pine (about a mile away) had no hookups. We drove down there to check them out. The sites were not as grassy and nice, but you could be right on the water if you wanted to be. It would be very easy to slip a kayak or canoe into the water from a waterfront site in this area. The entry road was dirt and the pads were gravel. It might be a challenge to level in this area.

When we were here (late May), the beach was closed due to the proliferation of Canada Geese droppings. It was hot enough to swim, so that was a disappointment. But the boat launch was opening and the kayaking was great.

Verizon Cell had a strong 4G signal due to the proximity of Highway 15 / I-99. As you got away from the campground, cell service was hit and miss. You could consistently pick up 4 OTA TV stations, with NBC being the major network.

We found plenty to do in the area. We paid a visit to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. Stop at Highland Chocolates in Wellsboro for treats made by a special workforce. If you need groceries, Wellsboro also had a Tops and a Weise Market, plus a RiteAid. Stop in the Visitor's Center at the campground and learn about the dam and walk the Tree Identification Trail. There is a lengthy Rail Trail in the area.

We enjoyed our 4 days here. We would definitely visit again. It's easy to get to from the Interstate, so it would make a great overnight stop too.
