There is a parking area and it’s lonely but perfect for a couple of class A rvs. We stayed here for 4 days and 2 people stayed for 1 night each. Dry camping but ground is level and super easy to park and set up. Easy and close to the casinos and the 15. No dump stations/ water near by so come prepared. No grocery stores either, Las Vegas is the closest big city which is 45 mins away.

Stayed here one night, . The gate was super easy to find, just go to the truck parking area to the right from the truck pumps and look along the fence for the only opening. quiet even though close to both the truck stop and I-15. We were the only ones here. The view of the lake bed and solar plant is kind of fun as well.

First of forget the Flying J. That is confusing and has two locked gates behind them period. The gate, which was open for me, is between the parking structure and Whisky Pete's (although as empty as it is they might be out of business soon). It's a lot easier to see the gate if you use Google maps satellite view as well. It stands out. I went out a few hundred feet on gravel and turned left into a parking area which could fit easily 10 rigs. You could proceed out to the lake bed for more privacy etc This is much better than the site at Jean's due to the distance to the site and issues with rain. While I was also at that spot, gun fire, then machine gun fire was so nearby 3 RVs moved away. The sign is not that apparent until you enter past the gate. Have posted the satellite view in the picture section. Might have some freeway noise but worth the ease and price.
The video on this site was good. I'm new to this app and didn't recognize its usefulness yet. Will say my stay was a Tuesday night and they gate was obscured by a dozen trucks with the whole lot being over a hundred easy. Also my 3 bar 5g later in the evening turned into 2 bar 4g.

I posted a photo to clarify the entrance. I read most postings have trouble. It's a gate in a chain link fence. On the right side of the photo is Flying J. On the left you'll see the dirt BLM land. In the center of the photo is the gated entrance.

I pulled in behind the casino and just north of the solar collector (you can't miss it). The road/surface is rocky so don't go any further than is needed. I was the only overnighter I saw and it was quiet. I would probably not stay longer, but I would overnight here again.

Stop anywhere close to the sign. I included a pic of the area to park. Do not go any further as the sand is soft. We are seniors and felt safe. Can see the truck stop and casino but still felt private. A sheriff drove by every day and waved. The stars are amazing. Somewhat windy, wind comes out of the west, so park accordingly. We walked to the ihop to eat. We will definitely park here again.

I came here because there was supposed to be great service and plenty of space to camp. And I needed a place to stop and save money. I don’t know if you’re supposed to open Chevron‘s private gate to get back there but my GPS took me past the solar panel farms. And the road was almost undrivable. Clearly people have been driving on it because there’s plenty of tracks but they were literally poles and I had to drive on two rails of sand with gashes in the middle towing my trailer and balancing on top of them. Because there’s no way to turn around either. Oh and there’s deep sand if you don’t have four-wheel-drive. So I finally get to this place and I did see a couple of gates but they were all locked and there are signs everywhere that say not to touch the lake. You cannot get on the lake bed. There’s one parking lot for windsurfers and no one else is allowed I guess. There’s one garbage dump looking lot right up against Chevron‘s parking lot, covered in trash. I asked the people at the casino and the people at Chevron and the people I saw drive-by to the windsurfing spot and nobody had any idea that there was ever Boondocking or what I was talking about. I don’t understand Heathers 20 reviews and number one none of them mention the ridiculous Road, and number two nobody mentioned that there actually is no service here. Literally right next to a casino and there’s sometimes two bars of Verizon. And number three how did people leave reviews for a campground at all? If they change the seasons or whatever then how come nobody here knows what I’m talking about? How come all of the signs that are permanent say you cannot get on the lake? What a waste of my time and the last bit of money I had to put in my tank. I ended up parked between a couple of semi’s for the night and calling out of work tomorrow since I have no service. This is my first terrible experience with a Campendium spot.

We went left and wanted to be off to ourselves. We had to just finally pull off to the side and park because we came upon a pretty bumpy washed out spot and was afraid our airstream might drag. Woke up and had to back out about 1/4 mile. If coming after dark I’d suggest just park to the right in a large easy to turn area. If coming during the day no worries. Easy to find a spot out of the scraping bushes.
