The parking area with RV hookups is shut down, and they told us to park in the parking lot adjacent to that is next to the Calcasieu Bridge. The noise was terrible whole night from the trucks on the bridge not to mention the train that went by several times at night. If you want even an hour of sleep, this is not the place Definitely would not stay here again.

This is our go-to overnight between Pensacola and San Antonio, and we arrived this evening (04 January 2021) to find the entire sprawling compound -- including all the parking lots -- fenced in.
Their web site (islelakecharles.com) says they are temporarily closed, but unfortunately we didn't look online until it was too late. Who closes an entire casino for renovations?
Anyway, we were able to find free overnight parking at the Delta Downs Racetrack & Casino only 25 miles farther west, just off I-10. It has its own entry here on Campendium full of all the info you need.

Lot sits directly underneath the Interstate, so there is traffic noise all the time. We had plenty of space for our 35' 5th wheel, the lot was well lit, and there was roaming security. Also, lots of room to walk to dog. 3 bars Verizon LTE.
RV sites were in the next parking lot over. They looked small and tight. I wouldn't pay for one when you can stay for free.

Nonetheless we had a good Valentines dinner on our trip cross country to Baja, MX. Very noisy! Lot is right below interstate bridge. The golden nugget casino is not too far away and they also offered free RV parking. We would probably go there next time to get away from the noise. They also have many more food and Casino options.

This is a great free spot that is very conveniently located off the interstate. It is noisy but we slept great. We saw security drive through a couple times. You basically have three options when staying here: 1) pay to stay in the lot next to the hotel- this includes electric. 2) stay free in the lot between the hotel and the bridge-no hookups. 3) or you could also stay under the bridge in the gravel lot-this is where the semis park, I wouldn't park here in an rv unless I had to. We stayed in the paved dry camping lot. Along with four or five other rv's. We went in shortly after we arrived and signed up for a players card at the casino, they gave us each $15 for the slots which was a lot of fun. First time we came out ahead camping somewhere :)

We stayed here one night en route between Austin and New Orleans. Easy to get to this parking lot and saw a couple of other RVs. There's a security truck driving around but they didn't ask us any questions. The RV lot is the closest to the interstate (which is up above on the bridge) and train tracks so it's a bit noisy but we ran our fan vent and didn't hear much at all. There's a little bit of grass to let the dog out but nowhere to go for a walk. A good option for a quick free night.
