Overall Rating

My only complaints would be the road noise, lack of level tent/rv spots, and firepit ash/glass not removed.

The pit toilet was clean and stocked. The East Fork Trail was a nice morning hike.

Overall Rating

Visited the Island Campground located on WV Route 28 in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. This affordable US Forest Service Campground has approximately a dozen sites, two of which may accommodate larger RVs. All sites are non-reservable and operated on a first come, first served basis. There is one vault toilet for the campground. The East Fork Trail, which follows the East Fork of the Greenbrier River, has it’s southern trailhead at this campground complete with trailhead parking. There is no AT&T or Verizon cellular service at this location.
