We needed a place to land before catching the Lewes-Cape May Ferry and this seemed like an ideal spot. This place was the most expensive and the dirtiest we’ve ever camped at, and they just cleared the land when developing so there wasn’t one tree except for on the property lines (we didn’t stay near the lake).
They should be charging at least half, our site had random broken beer bottles and fire pit in the next site over had what looked to be vomit and garbage in it. Not good when traveling with three dogs. Upon notifying office at checkout we were met with a insincere sorry.
Maybe we’d feel differently if we could’ve at least taken a shower after our full day of driving, but the facility hours are 8am-8pm only (which for the money they charge is a ridiculous rule).

Extra spacious sites next to a small lake. Beautiful sunsets and birds galore. Staff was friendly and very quiet at night. Would stay here again.

The waterside sites are mostly unlevel, some severely so. No park WiFi. Nice green grass with hard base pads, good size spaces. Seasonal sites are all well maintained. Staff are helpful, store has the basics. Quiet at night. Park lights are annoyingly bright depending on which area you're in.
20 minutes to Assateague, 10 minutes to eateries and services, 20 minutes to Ocean City.

Good things:
Large campground, many sites open. Friendly helpful staff. Pretty entrance road and ok lake and large sites.
Bad: Trash dumpster is huge and not emptied often, gross. 250k generator on all the time, loud noise. Gravel roads, dusty. “Grass” area not watered and sparse, no curbs. Ugly place.

We have stayed at this campground for numerous years; we think this is the nicest campground in the area. We enjoy the natural beauty, friendly owners and the peace and quiet (although we normally staying here off-season, we have found the campground enjoyable in-season).
We visited many area campgrounds before initially deciding to stay at Island Resort Campground and continue to return to this campground, year-after-year.
The owners recently added some additional RV sites, the spacing and levelness of these new sites shows that they understand their business and customers (i.e., their new pull-through sites can fit the largest of RVs [length and height] and are very level).
