Only 10 sites, Electric hookups. Unpaved pull through sites are not clearly marked but seems like they can handle big rigs. Dog park nearby (by the baseball diamond). Vault toilet. The campground was open as of August, 2022.

There were no electric dies available when I arrived Sunday at 8:30 pm. That was ok as I have solar plus battery. Not is quite a ways across the park to the porta-johns. I called the police for permission as the rec site was not open.

We stopped in to see if the sites are open yet but no such luck. The town website looks like they are open but they were not. Too bad! It is a nice park. We instead when 15 minutes north to Mountain Lake where there are first come full hookup sites for $20 a night and we loved it there!

Stopped by hoping for a spot for the night & the Camping sign has a permanent “Closed” addition below it.

We came here on August 20th 2018 and unfortunately the campsites were closed due to recent flooding. It was kind of late, so we called the local PD and they graciously allowed us to boondock in the parking lot. Place looked great, though!

Island Park is a city park located in the small town of Windom. Ten RV-only sites are lined up side by side feet away from the Des Moines River. There is a 14 foot gate at the entrance.
The RV park isn't anything to look at - a gravel pad with electric boxes and some busted picnic tables scattered about. There's a bathroom a short walk away at the football field, and showers at the swimming pool during the summer. Payment is via an iron ranger and I don't imagine this place ever gets busy.
At $10 a night including electric, speedy wifi, access to a dump station and potable water, this park is a decent stop between Minneapolis and Sioux Falls. When I arrived on a Wednesday evening there was a high school football game going and I enjoyed listening to the announcer and the cheering fans as I ate dinner. Everyone was cleared out by 10PM. I half-expected some mild harassment from local teenagers in rusty pickup trucks but it was a quiet night.
Highway 60 runs down one side of the park and you get some traffic noise in the campground.
The town of Windom provides internet at the park which is speedy (30mbps download) and there is speedy AT&T and Verizon. The town office said the RV park is open year round, though water gets shut off sometime in October.
